I just took out my old fan switch and it did NOT have a washer.
When I look at the blown out photo, there is a washer (#38)
There is also a washer on the petcock (#9) which I did not have on mine either.

Anyone know the size of them or part # from a local part store?

    Thanks!!

The original switch is a common European car part. I know VW used them on everything water cooled from about 1975-85 at least. At worst you could buy the whole switch at NAPA for $15 and it would come with a washer, but I bet the part is available separately. Probably radiator shops have a bin of them.

    What he said.

Get a two pole switch from about 1980 VW Rabbit/Jetta/Scirocco, they are the same part. (Some later VW's like the 86 and up 16V's had a three pole switch)

I think the gasket you are looking for is the same as those use on the gearbox or engine sump plug

You will get it for 1$ at Alfa Romeo shop

I don't know. If it was supposed to be copper, I suspect Ferrari would have said so in their original documents. Would 10261860 physically fit? Yes.

What does Ferrari document in the parts book? Fiber washer 101508. The compression of copper vs. these fiber ones is quote different.

You are right, normally it is a fiber gasket similar to those used at home on the shower, faucets or water fittings.

    I installed copper.

It doesn't matter, just use whatever doesn't leak. If it doesn't leak with no washer, that's fine too.

The amount of torque needed to get a good sealing 'crush' on a copper washer of that diameter could be pretty high, higher than the threads of the radiator may allow. I used some water-pump gasket sealant around my washer just-in-case.

While we are on the topic of washers, the lower fuel tank cross over pipe has a drain bolt with a washer, part number 10278650. Is that a brass washer?

The one on my car was actually aluminum... I have no idea if that was original or not.

Copper works great. Good conductivity, easily forms for a good seal. These come in a thousand different dimensions at any hardware store - just pick the one that fits - for about 10 cents each.

Why make something harder than it needs to be?
