Absolutely insane lap by Vettel, great effort. I was standing up as soon as he put in that first sector. I don't care about statistically better advantage by Mansell, this is something else...
Anti-climatic 2011 season finale. There's nobody even close to the Bull, though Button gave it a good shot. Massa again showing why he should be tossed. How is he .50 secs behind his teammate at his HOME GP??? If rain is really in the cards, anything is possible tomorrow. (That said, barring Vettel having an off-moment tomorrow, he will win by his largest margin of the season). For 2012, I hope the other teams get their crap together. This season was over at the halfway point. The only drama was for the first-loser position, but even that's wrapped up. It's not the FIA's responsibility to slow the Bull down either. Obviously, Adrian Newey is in another world when it comes to design (did you hear that list of records they rattled off on Speed? He has a hand in almost all of the ones since the mid-80's). The other team need to be as creative as he is in exploring the options and thinking outside of the box.
It'd probably still be faster than the rest! Dayum, those Cans look good - Noticeably quicker than the rest. All we can hope for now is a Newey dog next season - He's about due to get *something* wrong....... Cheers, Ian
Good qualy. Let's hope it rains as predicted tomorrow for an interesting race or it's going to be Nother Vettel dominate festival. Looks like Brawn and Michael are strategizing between the two drivers Michael on hard tires and rain setup. Nico will continue to be incredibly quick if it's dry tomorrow. His q2 time was just crazy
No Sir; 2nd - JB, 255 3rd - Fred, 245 4th - MW, 233 5th - LH, 227 The front of the WCC OTOH is indeed all over but they're still battling for 5th thru 8th - As Varsha etc never tire of telling us, that's many millions of $ at stake right there. Cheers, Ian
As usual the threat of rain was just a teaser and sadly it didn't happen. Better luck for tomorrow! Congrats to Vettel for beating a "record". At least it made the Speed commentators happy while the rest of the world, including Mansell probably doesn't give a damn about. Keeping my fingers crossed for the race, still have some outstanding bets, but if quali is any indication, more beer is in the forecast.
It certainly seemed to be important to Mr V. While you can't compare across eras and stats tell only part of the story is there any doubt that Seb made quite the emphatic statement?
