Interesting watching the body language between MS and SV at ROC. They look like good friends. I can't wait to see them as team mates in a Mercedes F1
Schumacher has supported Seb since his karting days and Seb has him on speed dial. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That'd be an even more one sided battle than it already is against Nico. But I don't see Vettel ever going to MB. He'd only make that move if they become a top team, which a) I don't think will ever happen and b) if it does, it will take years and by then MS is no longer driving.
I hope you are wrong about the top team implication. As long as MS is a driver or takes on a different role in F1 there will never be another driver/person that will surpass my support for MS.
Vettel idolized Schu growing up. The kid had a life size poster on his door and wouldn't shut up about Schu growing up. Interviews from his parents sound like the kid had a bit of an obsession. I would like nothing more to see Vettel and Schu as teammates but I can't see if happening with Rosberg in the picture. Now Rosberg and Vettel could be a possibility.....
To your first statement, how do you know????? Michael wipes the floor with Nico on race pace while Nico is Senna-like on qualifying pace. How do YOU know what Vettel's capabilities are vs another excellent driver? We don't, so get off it. And again to your second statement: you are going to eat your words sir. MB and RB are now the most well equipped teams in Formula 1. Have you seen the people they have now??????????? Really???? Come on. I don't see Ferrari making any big strides with how they do things and with LD in charge. Mclaren will always be good, but MB is now destined for that level by no later than 2013 I believe.
Funny isn't it? He just can't help himself. I have to say, though, I sort of get the feeling SV would wipe the floor with MS, but I'm open minded about it. SV was fantastic to watch in today's ROC. Can't wait to see the outcome tomorrow.
They retained the title for Germany today didn't they? Seb and Schu were brilliant in the final I heard.
Everyone see Vettel and Haug glad-handing it there? I see a future...... Schu was also the only person to beat Kristensen at RoC. neato
Official Press Release: "Folks it has been reported by reliable sources that the F1 Silly Season has officially begun, hide you children and small pets!!!"
I agree with this. MS is having a hard time with Rosberg, Vettel would, IMO, drive circles around MS at this point. That is not meant to be a knock on MS, but more so a compliment to Vettel. The difference between the very top drivers and the mid-packers is very, very small. Unfortunately for MS, he's past his prime and the split second he's lost would be enough for Vettel to handle him pretty easily. Now, MS circa 2004 and Vettel 2011, that would be one hell of a competition. Mark
while I certainly understand the comment and I absolutely agree Vettel is a great driver, I have to ask again, how do we know how good Vettel would be against Rosberg??? WE don't. Period.
Why is that a mistery? It is you who keeps telling us here how absolutely average Rosberg is and that he has no fighting bone in his body etc etc. Vettel would leave Rosberg in the dust.
So anywho I shook my 8 ball globe this morning and it predicted MS will be WDC in 2013, discuss the 8 ball !
You forget that Vettel has never had a great teammate to go up against him. All we know about Rosberg is that he can outqualy Schu which I suspect he could very possibly do the same against Vettel. We just don't know and there is no argument about it. Anyone else watching RoC today? Vettel is absolutely flying as is Coulthard. Schu got the better of Button in the nascars SCHU JUST KNOCKED OUT VETTEL LOL. GO SCHU
Rosberg partnered Weber in 2006, Weber beat Nico in points. Granted that was his rookie season, but it's still relevant. Mark
+1 And lets not forget Monza 2008 where Vettel beat everybody with a POS. A car much worse than what Rosberg drove. Oh and BTW: Vettel beat everybody in qualifying AND in the race.
See that is where I "scratch my head." I agree by the way. I just started to watch F1 (3 years or so) and it seems that the drivers are all good but the cars are so different. I think someone said 70% car and 30% driver. I have to agree. Drivers bounce around F1 just like any other sports. So they do good on one team and struggle in another. Vettel without question is doing super, but he is in a great car. What would happen if he was say let's in a Virgin or even a MB. What are some names of drivers that did not have a great car early on and if they were in a top tier team, might have been the likes of Scumi or Vettel? Vettel was one but he is in a RB now. Others fell off and went away. And this is just from pure curiosity, obviously I won't go back and read very post from this F1 articulate person, but what is Tifosi such a bashed of MS? I'm not the biggest fan, but it seems like their is hatred for the guy. Like he wishes he never cam out of retirement. I for one love to see as many talent on the grid. He'll I wish they had 40 cars out there competing for the win. If he came back and was being a back market then yes stay retired. But he is not and I welcome home to try to win.
