Hi, been away again... I don't know how much lighter but obviously the three bits are a lot lighter. I have the first set on the car and on mine I deleted the opening for the radio antenna. Instead I put an antenna inside the right hand side new GRP piece and, as GRP is invisible to radio waves, the reception is great without the visible antenna. The bumpers are massively lighter than the originals. I haven't worked out the price yet.
The Monzer will have a light weight full length undertray leading to the rear difuser instead of the original plate.
Hi Clive. Have you thought any more regarding the 3 piece buttresses around the rear window. I wouldn't want the aerial hole either. Just need to get my car as light as possible.
Thanks for the bump - it got this amazing thread on my radar. How's the Z coming along then Clive? Lee
Once Scott has finished the engine (hint-hint) on the previous page then we can put the car together. No point fitting hinges, sorting suspension, wheels etc. until the weight of the drive train is in place as, no matter how stiff the chassis is now with the bonded on body, it will flex a little and all would need readjusting.
I see that you lecture in computer science, you might like the computer I have ordered for home as my laptops are running out of steam: Dell Precision T7500 Two x Intel Xeon X5570 Quad Core Processor, 8 threads, 4 x 2.93Ghz cores - boost to 3.3Ghz, 8Mb Cache, 6.4GT/s 24Gb DDR3 1066Mhz ECC RDIMM Ram (6 x 4GB chip) 900Gb (2 x 450GB) 15,000RPM SAS HDs nVidia Quadro FX4800 1.5GB 16x DVD-RW drive LG BH10LS30.AUAU10B 10x Internal Blu-Ray BDRW Intel High Definition sound C15 SAS Controller 30" Dell monitor Windows 7 Professional 64 bit I will add a RAID array. I already have a 3D scanner... Do you have any CFD software like Exa PowerFLOW lying around that you don't want...?
One of the reasons I bump'd this, more of a prod for me I have cosmos, it's not state of the art but avg.
Hey lee ...you been following too .... I have followed this for years.... Zertec keen to see this come to fruition...
Now going alone in many directions (hard when your alone!) Hopefully this leaves me more time for cars as well. Just finishing the moulds for the 8/Qv front end, i.e.,: Bonnet (hood to you guys misusing English) Wings (fenders) nose panel (joins the wings in front of the bonnet) Headlamp pods I already have the moulds for the bumpers (front and rear), front spoiler and the rear roof rubber (3-piece). I will also do the inner wheelarchs etc.
Great. Has it been like 5yrs since we last met there? How did you manage to deal with laying it off for so many years? Oh, I recalled that you have a hand in TVR, what models were they?
Smoke & mirrors... During the Peter Wheeler years at TVR, I messed around with bits and pieces - detail stuff really. Griffith, Chimaera & Tuscan mainly. Some new plans for 2012 at hatching
Being creative is good, I like the sides and rear look, however the front hood with the 2 holes look out of place. The front lip does look good, looks like styling Qs from a GTO. I am interested to see the final project, sure it will look good !
