Hi again guys, I am just hit by the "blue 550 Maranello syndrome". I just have to get one, but it must be "just right"! I found a picture of one on google today, and I just wonder if you could tell by the picture which blue color it is? When looking at all the advertizements, the Tour de France blue cars look lighter in the color than this one... They also look quite different all toghether even if they are TdF cars. I am looking for a dark blue metallic with crema interior. That seems to be a hard one to find! It just look so classy. I can't have anything else than this now....... Thanks for all inputs. That's Pozzi if I'm not mistaken. Blue 550's and 575's are gorgeous along with the silver ones, though it's one of those bodies that looks great regardless of color.
Definitely Pozzi, one of my favorites. A friend has one with a cuoio interior and navy dash, looks fantastic.
its not an easy quest - I have been in the hunt for 3 months and have yet to see a good one I know of three blue 550s for sale right now all of them I have passed on a California Azzuro here in FL - nice car but the interior is light blue leather & not for me. There is a darker blue car in Oklahoma - its listed on Ferrari Market Letter - too far off the beaten to get properly inspected. There is a Tdf blue & tan in Salt Lake but just not well enough maintained for me. I am open to a 575m gated or any dark colored - its not an easy thing to find. Did the Toys for Tots run today in Fort Lauderdale. Out of 200 cars only one 550 and no 575s. The one 550 was Pozzi with crema - waited for the owner to return and he had no interest in selling it. good luck in your search - if you have an interested in of the above referenced rejects send me a pm.
This thread is very helpful for those that love blue 550/575s: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=182734
Thanks for the input. I don't think this car is Pozzi. The glare is different in a metallic paint. It look slike this is metallic and darker than TdF. I have not seen many Le Mans blue cars yet, but I believe Le MAns is darker than TdF? I like the TdF a lot, but could prefer it to be a little darker. I am afraid the Pozzi will look strange in strong sun shine..? And small scratches will be easy to see. I plan to use the car quite a bit. Am ready to have it polished once every month. There is one in cars.com now for 30.995 usd... I believe this is just a fraud :-( I sent an email, and recieved a reply from a woman, but no pictures or any info on the owner etc....
This is Blue Le Mans.... I believe it is the same color as the 550 in the picture? This is a killer color!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Blu Le Mans is the metallic version of Blu Pozzi. They will look similar in certain lighting conditions.
100% not Pozzi Blue. This car was for sale with DK Engineering approx 4 months ago. The Colour is Le mans Blue.
This is really cool. Fantastic feeling when one can tell the name of the specific color by just looking at a Ferrari. It appears by the last picture of the color selections availible for 1998 that the Le Mans is not there... That make it even more difficult to find a car with this color. Are there only a few years this was availible? I have seen 456Ms in Le MAns and this model came first in 1999. Does that mean tha 1996/97/98 cars can not have this color? One oprion is to paint it like this if the paint is not perfect, but then again, the finish will most likely not be the same as from Ferrari. And the car must be blue (Pozzi) before painting it. The upside is that the paint will be totally fresh. That is also a big joy on enthusiast cars!
Okay, sounds great. Can you please let us see how it looks like? Post some pictures if you don't mind. I am sure everyone will apprechiate it! How do you find the interior? Is it hard to keep clean? How do you maintain/clean it? And what about the paint. Is there any difference when it comes to maintaining it vs a metallic paint? Thanks in advance
This was the car that started this thread; http://www.dkeng.co.uk/Vehicle_Archive/67/Ferrari_550_Maranello.html
Thank you Jack, It is a little unusal. Which is strange considering the fact that it works so well together. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
