    Hi Maarten,

    Maybe you like this link?

    http://arthomobiles.fr/MaranelloRT/MaranelloRTD1.htm

Just scroll down to the 'Schumi' book in an attache case. IIRC the book was also released for the general public. Is it over the top? Probably.

    Regards,

    Mick

Can someone educate me about the "1947-1997" books? Are there several different versions? It seems that some have slipcases while others don't.

Where some versions limited editions or numbered?

    What about values?

My own copy is in a yellow and foil dust jacket inside a similarly colored slipcase. It is not numbered.

    Thank you.

    Jack.

I will give it a shot:

Yellow with dustcover in slipcase is the commercial edition.
Red with dustcover is the "not for sale" edition. this was given away by Ferrari
Silver with dustcover, given away by Luca di Montezemolo (but i'm not 100% sure)
Black with dustcover. was for sale in the owners section website.

And I heard about a golden cover of 10 pcs. but never seen pictures of it.

There are besides the Factory publications various commercial editions by Heel, Nada, ETAI, Rizzoli.

Matthias Bartz, the German Dino expert, has now sent out the first copies of his long-awaited Dino 206/246 book. A fabulous publication with 396 pages, large format, very high quality paper and printing, perfect binding, comes in a slipcase, state of the art layout. First class research and it clearly shows that the man behind this great new book has a TRUE PASSION for all Dinos. Tons of new information and many new old photos never seen before including a RHD 246 GT in the ultra rare Verde Bahram color.
This book is a MUST HAVE.

What are the other titles, Jack??

And what is the deal on "Open Roads" did it sell out?

Bull Publishing shows it at $150, why are these shops asking $500??

I did note there is a 'Publishers Edition' signed by some drivers of the day....

    The Wimpffen set is:

Time and Two Seats (2 volume set)
    Monocoques & Ground Effects 1982-1992
    Spyders & Silhouettes 1972-1981
Winged Sports Cars & Enduring Innovations 1962-1971
    Open Roads & Front Engines1953-1961

Each covers a different era of post-war championship sports car and endurance racing. Time and Two Seats is more of an encyclopedic record, while the others are large format, glossy books. All are superb.

I don't know if any have been sold out. If Bull is still advertising them they must be available. Time and Two Seats has been sold out for a long time and commands some pretty high prices, but it was expensive to begin with.

I did not notice the signatures, but it IS taking off!

I have that particular Edition and it's rather an expanded version, no idea if the later Fourth and Fifth Editions retained the material.

Are you "on" that "Open Roads"???

I'm only chasing a few smaller titles.

I LOVE that 'piston and plug' tho!!!

    Hi all,

This book was reviewed shortly in the current issue of Classic & Sports Car: the review states that "Ferraris are featured extensively", so it will likely be interesting for my fellow book collectors here too? I´ve not ordered it yet, but will do so soon (the new Dino book by Matthias Bartz comes first on my list of books to buy).

    Ciao,

    Lars T.
