I guess the Aussies will be happy. Also means we've got 3 Frenchies on the grid again....

    Cheers,
    Ian

Letting go of both of their drivers? I thought for sure one of them was going to be replacing Webber in the next few years...

Pretty stupid of TR to let Jaime Alguersuari go.

He's been doing so well this year. Will he get a seat with another team?

Let's hope so. I can see him either at Williams or Caterham. He's only 21, but he's had some pretty great runs this year - beating Nico to 7th in the Korean GP in particular comes to mind.

The nickname thing is so queer, but I digress...

Buemi, meh, but dumping Alguersuari was a truly idiotic move.

Jaime is one of my favorite drivers in F1 today. I truly hope he finds a seat.

Wow, I didn't see that one coming. I thought that they would keep Jaime for sure considering his races this year. Hopefully he will replace Barichello or Trulli. Its time for those two guys to say adios from F1, they are past their prime.

I think it's a silly and stupid move by STR

Haven't been to impressed with Riciardo, even though he only did half a season. IIRC he failed to beat his teammate in every race, and that's a teammate who isn't very good to begin with.

Vergne is another story. Very impressive stuff he did in testing...

From reading around on this, I guess neither was good enough for Red Bull proper according to Marko. Neither could be a team mate of Vettel.

I would have canned Buemi but I don't quite get them letting go of Jaime. Oh well. Neither were overly impressive anyway

This says it all really: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/96757

STR are merely a driver development team for Red Bull so that they can (hopefully), find the next Vettel/Hamilton/Schumacher/Senna etc., etc.

Red Bull have realized that neither of these drivers is exceptional like those mentioned above so it's time to try another two drivers.

Think of STR as Red Bulls XFactor for drivers.

If they find a driver as exceptional as those already mentioned, guess where he will be driving pretty quickly (a bit like Vettel!) :)

It's moves like these that make me actively despise RB. Making young drivers seem like damaged goods, dropping them after nearly every team's seats have been filled. Trying out several young drivers, trying to find the next Vettel, casting them aside at a momentary whim.

Hope Ferrari and McLaren get their act together next year, I want to see them wipe the smug smile off Christian Horner's face.

Whatever happened to GP2 being the feeder series and training grounds for future F1 drivers?
