Did you have to jack the car body up any higher than it was or did the engine just slide out on the pallet jack?
Comparing with the picture you are refering to, yes, we had to raise the car body up a bit more, but we did it by hand just to clear the back of the car. No big deal.
BACK FROM THE DEAD!!!!!!!! The owner of the car insisted on buying 2 new cylinder gaskets for his car. We took out the gaskets that were leaking and replaced them with the new ones that came from the UK. We went through all the torquing proceedure again and after that we pressure tested again with good results . So it´s time to continue... Thanks! One important thing to note is that we've checked the alignment of all the pulleys and bearings. Everything was ok. Rotating the engine a few times has also shown that the belt doesnt have any tendency to ride against any of the pulleys. We're happy with the result.
nice work guys! bravo do you have any pics of the first set head gaskets removed? it'd be interesting to see what they read DH is a bit shy on revealing the root cause of this type engine head gasket sealing issues, maybe you can relate what was seen first hand as issue?
Did you buy the same elring gaskets or something else? What did you do to obtain a perfect seal if you bought Elrings again?
The owner bought the gaskets at Ferrari UK , yes they are Elring. The procedure was the same as the first time. Before the engine goes back to it´s place we will preesure test it again.
