    Soooo many variables! I guess dissertations need a bit of fluff ;) I just used the average user growth rate over the past 4-5 months. I'm assuming (hopefully correctly) that Rob's user deletions are spread out evenly over that time span so I didn't factor that in or adjust my guess. The only site I used to figure the growth rate was this one.

    OK, end of entries. 1_can_dream had a good method to look at the userids of users from a few months ago and compare that to recent userids to get the growth rate. My simple method was to watch the daily user count at bottom of main forum when I announced the contest and then before deadline calculate the growth rate.

    FYI my guess would have been 03/10/2012 9:45 AM :D

    I'm already working on a signature. ;)

    As for strategy I looked at the last 12 months on Big Boards and saw that the site was averaging ~ 1050 new users a month. I confirmed this by looking at the ID # for the member that joined 12 months ago.

    I noted Rob's comment that he purges from time to time so I assumed it would take 3 months from the exact moment of my post...FTW! :D
