I dont think either are good looking cars, but the F40 is very aggressive and functional looking which, IMO, puts it heads above the F50 which I think fails completely as a design

Out of the modern supercars, the only one that I think is gorgeous is the 288GTO.

why do you think the F50 fails completely?

I like it, don't love it, but it's the most "organic" of the Ferrari supercars and carried over a lot of elements from the F40 (giant rear wing, mesh rear grill, etc).

    I wish the F50 was a bit more aggressive (think F50 GT1), but I don't think it's a failure.

Aesthetically I don't think it's right to compare the two. I appreciate both of them and would be happy owning either one of the two.

I prefer the F50. The F40 looks too much like curved planes instead of compound curves. Both nice, but I prefer the design of the 512TR over either of them from a styling perspective.

IMO, it has an overall kit car look to it. The way the forms resolve, especially the rear/wing. Doesnt work for me. I also hate the ducts in the hood, not because they exist, but because of how they were incorporated. The front clip is also very kit car to me with a dash of Toyota MR2 (though I cant honestly say I know which came first)

The car just doesnt look like it came out of a professional design studio to me.

the F50 might have worked better had it not tried to 'follow up' the F40....i wouldn't say No to an F50, but i prefer the F40
both cars look great in person, IMO the F40 is somehow a more honest design :)
