Yes, please more pictures of that Gullwing car. I don't know why I don't remember it.
The 1st one: Wow a sunroof, interesting. Wow, bumpers, horrible.

The 2nd one: cool, the guy even leather wrapped the subwoofer box.

Prices are steep for right now. Remember the perfect (one of the finest) green one sold for 40k last year. Kills me because he had 70k &60k OR best offer on the ebay add AND MEANT IT. Best offer was 40k and he took it.

That car looked very nice but we really didn't know anything about the mechanicals.
Id it's preservation class - show queen that's one thing but if you want to drive the thing in anger it's a whole other kettle of fish. Some guys over on VLG claimed to have previously known or owned that one. But I agree it looked super clean.

George Bullwinkel had a nice blue S3 with automatic. I don't know if he has sold it or not.
He's on VLG and if you google a bit you'll find out how to contact him

Can you spot the grille in this picture?

I had a great time in reproducing the rear grille. As Daryl stated this grille comes off in seconds with no tools needed.
I made it to the correct dimensions but stronger with 4 spring pins that you pull to release.
I have some photos at vintage lambo dot com

As far as installing the grille on cars that did not come with it, you have to install the glass on the inside of the body. This is not an easy job to do.

I will be adding more to the web site soon, like how I reworked the series one A/C so it works.

You know Bob, when I ordered my license plate frame you might have mentioned the other 5 options available for the luggage compartment ...

You probably can't close the hatch or drive like that but what's it matter?

Some updates on the Espada project:

After a complete teardown, the numbers-matching engine is off to Ed Pink's for machine work. The bearing on the port cam drive sprocket failed completely with the cage having disintegrated and several balls falling out. I feel like the next rev-up would have blown the whole works, so it was caught perhaps just in time.

The car is at Bob's Huber's shop for new suspension rubber and shock rebuilding.

In 1978 I was 17 years old and working that summer at Trudeau Motors, a GM dealer in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. For a few months we had a yellow Espada and an orange Urraco for sale, I think that they came from Mo Carter out of Hamilton. I never thought to get serial numbers but does anyone know of either car?

    Thanks, Ian

That's my theory. The chains were tight but there was plenty of evidence of them being loose at some point, so somebody went in and cranked at least one side down to piano wire. Then they upended a 55-gallon drum of silicone on the cam covers, much of which ended up in the oil collector.

They look to be an impressive place!

Have they done the Lambo shocks like these before or are you the guinea pig on this one?

Are you needing to replace your springs too?
