Great comparison, good thing he didn't compare the 328/355 to the latest and greatest from Ferrari. I guess it's up to personal taste which car is more fun to drive, besides my current Ferrari the 360cs would get my vote. Marry Christmas & maybe next spring will hook up and talk cars.

If you're going to get your services done at a dealer, you absolutely must get an FCA membership. It saves you 10% across the board on parts and labor.

My father's 328 was purchased knowing that some maintenance had been deferred, and he's the type of person to do his service at a dealer. I told him he needed to join before taking it in (he took my advice). It'll end up saving him around $1,500.

As for the original question, I'd say around 5K is a round number for the lot, assuming no big "gotchas" are discovered while open on the table. Some dealers are running specials at the moment, and they are around $4,500 from what I've read.

$12,170 for engine-out major, all the xtras and Fabspeed/Cats/ypipe - from a "cost" standpoint you did great IMHO. The quality of work will have to stand the test of time but it looks like you did fine.

The way I look at 355 majors is I had a 2005 Porsche and lost $30K in depreciation over 4 years - even if I am agressive on my 355 majors at 3 years and do a lot of extras I will spend $10Kish every 3 years and $2Kish each year for annuals and this and that. Cost+pride of ownership the nod goes to the Ferrari - no knock to Porsche but just the way I see it.

    Cheers
