I just dont understand why Ferrari is building 2 cars for women. The FF station wagon & the California.

Enzo never built cars for women unless they were movie stars or women racers

You don´t understand my point. I will never be interested in something that is made by the thousands, by a machine. I am interested in human craftmanship. Even when the time has come that a machine objectively builts a better model. A time which we haven´t reached yet and probably will not reach for a long time to come. There is not much ´art´ in a mass- and machineproduced model, so I simply fail to see the attraction. Any handbuilt model is much more alive, just because it is built by hand.

But again, I do not mean to steer this off topic. I am happy to discus it in a more approriate topic, if one so pleases.

How are these cars any different than when Ferrari made the Mondial cab or the 400/412? The main difference I can see is that the FF and California are much better cars. No one thinks your constant trolling is funny. Maybe you can find a honda forum where they think it is.

Well... if you own a Ferrari (1:1 scale) and who cares what model it is... "What's there NOT to like about it"... Its a FERRARI... Yeah Baby!!!! :) :) :) :)

PS... IMO only - Porsches don't have the WOW factor when looking at one and it doen't do a whole lot for me, but I'm sure driving them might be a whole different story though! Sorry Porsche guys :)

The only Porsche that does anything for me is the 911 thru 997 series and perhaps the Carrera GT. I could care less about the rest of them.

Enzo only built cars that would pay for him to go racing. He'd have gone bust if he continued building unpopular cars that were unreliable and didn't sell. It's cars like the FF and California that enable Ferrari to pay for stuff like the 458, GTO and Enzo etc.

Personally, I buy models of all Ferraris in 1:18. I'll be buying the FF and 308 GT4 as I did with the California, 458, 599GTO and even Mondial 8 before.

My apologies if I missed this somewhere else, but what is the latest word on a release date for the FF in 1/18 scale? Now that the real thing can be found in NA Ferrari showrooms, I have to imagine the 1/18 version cannot be too far behind.

I have this model on my shelf already. They are not officially released yet (I wonder why) but I got mine in its original package and all from Honk Kong and I am very happy with it. The paint is kind of bad, but to be fair I believe this has to do with the model being sold to me before they are officially produced. I hope the production one will not have the paint issues mine does.
I read all the previous comments again and would like to say a couple of things. This model's panel gaps are non existent. If I didn't know better, I would think the front hood did not open. A highly recommended model. It is is TDF Blue by the way. I think , Mattel changing it from the Blue America announcement has something to do with MR models being released in the same colors.
And about the argument of hand built models, MR and BBR are mass produced in China and then packaged in Italy. Don't care what it says on their box or website. MR owner even shared his pride in a recent interview, about "revolutionizing the hobby" by being the first to look for factory in China to do the work for him and them the rest following his example.
And by the way, he was hired by Mattel to do their Elite line.
I also saw a comparo between Autoart's latest Lambo and MR's. Put on a shelf you can not tell which one is which.

Yeah I've seen a couple of these on Ebay over the last couple of days and thought the color was problematic. I really hope the color problem is taken care of when they officially release the cars. I can't believe they haven't released them yet. I thought for sure they would be out with plenty of time before Christmas. Releasing them this late is a big mistake in my opinion.

I don't think there is a problem with the color. The issue is the smoothness of the paint. I also believe that the hold up with the model release is out of Mattel's control. Trust me, if they had a choice the model would be on the market already.

I'd like to know more on this

    when he was hired ?

I've noticed some kind of agreement between HW and the ultra expensive "snob" brands such as BBR & MR

they offer the expensive model first for the snob who gotta have it no matter it's value
and then comes the Elite version for everybody .

It would be sweet if HW made a "Super Elite" version of the FF... but I'm sure the price would be around the BBR, MR price range.... well almost!

They did announce it in Rosso Fuoco. It should be out shortly after the Elite. Their prices are around $250. That is incredible model, in limited numbers, on a leather plinth, in identical box to the MR one. And all of this for $150 cheaper than the lowest MR/BBR price.

I will be getting this one. I love the TdF exterior/red interior color combination! It looks like Mattel got a lot of the details right on this one as well, especially the wheel/tire size which has been an issue on many previous Hot Wheels Elite Ferrari releases.

The MR and BBR models are nice (and pricey) but I'm happy with my HW Elite FF. It looks great in dark blue with the rest of my collection. It is a Ferrari after all! :)

I just got my Elite FF last week. It's very nice... good to see the wheel/tire size is pretty spot-on for a change.
