Fantastic thread, thanks a lot for sharing those pictures. Here is my small contribution with the 1968 Barcelona motor show. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you so much for posting these images of the 1968 Barcelona Motor Show. These are exactly what I'm looking for from fellow posters. I'm away from home for the next two weeks on Christmas holidays, but a bit of detective work when I return should yield the chassis numbers of the three cars that are visible. I'm sure the numbers for the Miura and Islero have been posted elsewhere, but note the very unusual three-piece bumper on the Islero. The silverish/green/blue 400GT 2+2 must be one of the last made and there can't be too many 400s that went to Spain near the end of their run. These pictures are brilliant, which publication did they come from?
Many thanks for this. Finland is one country that I hear very little about when it comes to car shows and the Lambos that have gone there, so it's great to see something from this country. Was it a factory/ Lambo dealership sponsored stand, or a another private company?
If anybody thinks they might have pictures of the Lamborghini stand at the 1976 Paris show or the 1976 Earls Court show please post them!!
I would love to blow up on a vinyl banner formy Garage and would pay accordingly to have made ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Glad you've liked. This car is one of the two Diablos in Finland. The other one is blue, same VT roadster. I don't remember so well, but I think it was a stand where was other cars also, including white V8 engined replica Countach...... (Do not ask what I think about that ) Actually here is couple of more "Lamborghini's in shows" from Finland. (73/80, don't know is this 99 or 00) http://kuva1.kuvablogi.com/iso/img1895821.jpg Helsinki Motor Show 1996 1996 SV-R Diablo (I think this car has still this yellow livery and same race number, anyone confirm) http://kuva1.kuvablogi.com/iso/img1895863.jpg Helsinki - Motor Sport Show 2010 2006 Gallardo GT3 http://kuva1.kuvablogi.com/iso/img2433716.jpg All these will be found here with more images: http://kuvablogi.com/blog/1949/109/
Both sold in Spain. They were brought to Eduardo Miura's ranch when Ferruccio Lamborghini visited him for a photoshoot for an italian magazine.
Me too! I've searched in my files but I don't have a higher res pic than the one I've send you.. Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
Yes, that's what I thought first when saw it. I asked it here Espada- Thread on summer and seems it has sold as new to US and then sold back to Europe somepoint. Been on sale in Germany where sold to Finland and I think it found this summer a new owner here.
Marzal is in Switzerland with a noted Lamboghini collector. I would love to have been the man Pirelli sent round to all the shows with a small pot of yellow paint and a brush to hand-paint the "Pirelli" & "Cinturato" script on the tires
These pics are so good the withdrawal has started already! Keep this old stuff coming....... Gary Espada 8394
More stuff will be coming, but you'll have to wait until I get home from my holiday. Should be worth it though.
Well, I've found a couple more images from my protable hard-drive. The first is Geneva in 1981, the next is Geneva in 2005. I'll leave it to others to scrap out about which one they prefer;-) I think I have other 1981 shots at home, so they'll come through in the New Year. Hi, I posted one of these on the Countach thread a while ago, but now I have found my original slides. 1st location is in Clapham, SW London, just before the 1974 motor show. Lamborghini's presence at same was uncertain due to financial / organisational issues. Many thanks to R Phillips for private viewing then . Gold Jarama GTS and white Uracco ( sorry for the very poor photo ) are probably from 1973 at the same venue. Peter Image Unavailable, Please Login

Peter, These shots are great, really historic. Depsite the 'poor' quality you refer to, they are still colour shots from an era when so many were B&W. I'll check my records to see if any clues can be gleaned as to whether the Urraco and Jarama S are from 1973 or 1974. As for the Countach shots, do you know the VIN? Many thanks for posting, I'm looking forward to being able to post some more soon myself.
These images are almost all from the Geneva Motor Show of 1977. The first two are from CAR May 1977, the next one in colour is from Auto Motor und Sport, March 1977, the next one is from Modern Motor, June 1977, the next is from Road & Track July 1977 and the large colour and B&W combo is from (I think) Le Automobile April 1977. The final shot is from Classic & Sportscar March 1988 and shows, (not very well I'm afraid), a brochure that was apparently produced in Arabic only. Reports at the time suggested that the Arabs had placed an order for 200 Cheetahs, there were hopes the Americans would eventually order 20,000(!) and that the possible total production could run as high as 60,000 units per year. Eventually the LM Series as it became panned out at a handful of prototypes and 301 LM 002 / LM Americans, ah the stuff of dreams!!! I would love to know the chassis numbers of the other cars that are visible in the background. The shot of the three men talking with the Espada, Urraco and Countach in the picture, apparently shows Lamborghini's Baraldini (whoever he is) talking to the American directors of the Cheetah project. If the white P250 Urraco is RHD it is almost certainly not 1973. The Silhouette next to Cheetah at Geneva in March 1977 is 40032.
