I live in Milan and I'm thinking about going to visit Bandini's grave some day soon. I'm "only" 30 so I've never seen one of his races (besides some online videos) or met him, but I've always been fascinated by his story.

on this forum's old post there are other pictures and a very touching story written by a fan: I dunno if you understand Italian but I can translate that for you if you're interested...

There is an example of this VERY patch, included in an assortment of Ferrari patches, on the auction ending TOMORROW, at l'art et l'automoble.

It certainly appears, to my eye, to be an exact issue matching the one of Bandinis...

To revive an older discussion, I think the shape of the badge is certainly reminiscent of that of Francorchamps, so I concur with Jim. RM Auctions had a wooden garage sign with a very similar logo for sale at Ferrari - Leggenda e Passione auction in 2008.

It must be the same logo that also appeared on the 1967 Ferrari 330GTC Static Exhibition Display sold for 23,000 euros at the same auction.

But the use of the color blue still baffles me.

PS And thank you for sharing your very special story and photos. I think it makes us all feel more connected to Ferrari's incredible and often sad history.

This logo dates back to the early 1950's and even the late 1940's. Phil Hill had the same badge on his jacket at the 1954 Carrera Panamericana. Not sure why if it is a Francorchamps badge. I don't think it is.

Ik ben er bijna zeker dit logo is een vroege Ferrari logo gedaan door de fabriek, niet Garage Francorchamps

This logo dates back to from the late 1940's and up until the mid 1950's and was used by the factory then. Maybe Bandini liked it and just used it to honor Ferrari history as it had been retired by 1965.

I have one of those patches as well. Not sure where it is but it has been kicking around probably since the late 70's or early 80's.

Seems to me we sold them at one of the Ferrari dealers I worked at. I have no recollection we considered them special or rare.

As I recall it look a little higher quality as in post 1 as opposed to the one in post 33.

It looks like the one in Post 33 has been sewn onto something, then removed...patina!!
