The Autoweek coverage of May 2, 2011 had them flying an FF up to the top of the Italian Dolomites in a CH-47 Chinook helicopter, then leaving it to drive in "a bulldozed high berm track in deep snow at the tip top of a world class ski run, 7,710 feet up..."

Mr. G might not be far off the mark...

Jim, I bet the former resident of Owl Farm would have garaged The Boot for you, were he still alive :)

The entry price is far out of my budget, however it appears to me that if one can afford to buy the car, two days use is far less than the depreciation hit taken over the first two days of ownership. In that respect it's a great deal, plus no service costs. :D

If this is with a swedish exchange student, it might not be such a bad deal:)

Nah. It's always some fat, sweaty guy from Newark. The ladies from Madame Tulsanes bikini academy always stay at the Holiday Inn... ;-(

I doubt it would be Woody Creek. It's far enough down the valley that it may or may not have enough snow, even in January.

I guess they keep on increasing the price until there are only a few takers. At that point they have reached the limit people will pay. A realistic value to put this together plus make 100% profit would probably come to around a few thousand dollars. As long as there are suckers out there paying this sort of money then why not ask that.

He would have been the best person to write a review of the event for sure! Few others have more experience with pushing the envelope on the roads around Aspen with cars and bikes.

    RIP HST!

    Don't knock it!

I'm sure they find many 'suckers' to ante up and pay the ridiculous price, just to say they did it!

Just another version of a 'sock in the crotch,' trying to impress and boost their esteem! It's something the 'nouveau riche' might do trying to impress others.

My thoughts exactly. They want YOU to pay THEM so that they can try to convince you to buy their product.

More power to them but that tactic would seem to appeal only to the More Money Than Brains crowd or the "See What I Did on My Winter Vacation" status seekers.

I don't know about that. There are a lot of people for whom $11. or $11K is essentially the same number. Sadly, I'm not one of them and will continue to use my 4runner for winter driving while the 430 stays warm and snug in the garage.

We are offering the FF/Home Depot Driving Experience here in San Diego, where you get to load an FF you provide with mulch and get it over to my house using some of the finest back roads in the county.

Price is significantly less than $11K but goes up in Feb.

Then that is the MMTB crowd. While the whole "value" proposition undoubtedly changes when one has great wealth, spending more money on something than is necessary just because you can afford it (but not care about the value of what you are buying) is silly. A good example is Warren Buffett picking up a nickel off the floor of an elevator at Kiewit Plaza in Omaha and saying to the astonished onlookers, "these have a way of turning into dimes".

BTW, I am not by any stretch saying that people can't spend (or waste) their money in any way they want, I'm just saying that I would not plan to spend my money to have someone market their product to me.

Does anyone know if any high potential customers (whales) get this trip comped for them? It would seem only logical as an investment from a marketing perspective.

Bingo. I think they list a $11.3K suggested retail just to make it seem like a big deal when FNA or your dealer 'invites' you to attend on their dime.

Have you ever stayed free at a timeshare??....... :D

I just got my annual e-mail for the Aspen event.

It's refreshing to see the prices haven't changed.

If you don't do it, you get dropped from the call list for the Enzo replacement. Just saying...

That actually looks like fun. And the Little Nell is great.

However, I do think it would be more fun (and cheaper) just booking a room at the Little Nell and renting snowmobiles for the day.

The thought of drifting a new FF around in the snow is tempting though..

No more snow than CO has had this year, you might be drifting in mud. Or dirt.

You can save $2,000 if you don't stay at the Nell. Thus the price is only $9,000! Smoking deal

What do they occupy in Aspen? Chalets and sip hot choclate?
$11K is nuts, now if like mentioned before it was an F1, now
    we're talking.
