Thanks for posting that Tenney, happy new year to you & all yours!

Here is another familiar 1977 car that was featured in both Excellence magazine and Sports Car International magazine in 2002 when previously owned by Kevin R

For famed conductor Herbert Von Karajan, Porsche built a one-off "Spezial".
Using a 3.0 RS body-shell it weighed in at just 2204 lb!

It was fully restored by Porsche in Zuffenhausen in 2000.. it too had elaborate Martini markings, perhaps not to everyone's taste. Cibie driving lamps were added.

Well you might as well mention the '59 RSK Spyder if you wish to go all the way off-topic :) But your point is well-made, he was a supreme Porsche enthusiast...

That was part of the 5mph bumper standard regs in the 1970s. The ride height regs only affected cars sold in the USA.

fewer in number...the original homologation special.

the 3.3 is superior in every other way however...i have had both so i have some basis.

to pete's comments I agree the 3.3 is superior, but the 3.0s to me feel lighter and i like the looks of the tail on the 75-77s and swing out rear window on the 75-76.

i'm familiar with the red 77 above (and the entire 930 collection) from the gentlemen who owned and sold it.
