I just watch the video "Night life" posted on the 348 and the guy reviewing the car kept saying "Three forty-eight". It kinda sounded rather odd for me. Is that an american thing? Ive never heard someone call it like that before. Ive always said "Three four eight".

How do you guys call it?

Zed or zero? petrol or gas? bonnet or hood?

It must be a western hemisphere thing, I suspect. Three-Forty-Eight is what I called mine.

    I say "three-four-eight".* :)

    * Always said with face lightening up expectantly, love-sick eyes gazing off into middle distance, and goofy grin stretching my mouth to my ears.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    Yeah, I say three-four-eight just like I say three-five-five.

Sometimes I do say three-fourty-eight and three-fifty-five, however...

In Italy, at the factory, according to Joe at Cauley Ferrari, they say "Three Four And Eight".

I've only ever heard it called the three forty eight, three fifty five. There is also the three oh eight and the three twenty eight. Interesting. I'm in the south but grew up in California. Three sixty, four thirty, four fifty eight. Personally I drive a Mondial three point two so I'm safe.

I used to always say three-fourty-eight and three-fifty-five, but I've found that after watching Top Gear UK more and more...that's starting to change to three-four-eight and three-five-five.

To answer your question, yes, it's just one more of those little cross-pond idiosyncrasies. :)

It must only apply to the 3 forty-eight, the 3 fifty-five, 2 eighty-eight, 6 twelve, 2 fifty, 3 sixty, 5 seventy-five and 5 fifty, 4 fifty-eight (although I do catch myself saying 4 five eight).... Do you see a pattern? "Westerners" pronounce most cars (particularly Ferraris) with the first digit as a single designation and the last two as a double digit. In the case of the 308, I find most people pronounce it as "three-oh-eight."

    No matter. Enjoy the ride!

I call mine a piece of junk.

But to answer your question directly, it's an American thing, I call it a three forty eight.

Ha ha ha, un piece de merd, avec beaucoup de problems. Although a 100 mile drive up and down Pacific Highway would make you forget any of that problem. Plus if you stop tinkering around with it, and remove that non-original red paint airbox, maybe it will cooperate.

Just make sure you don't put a darn "F" in front of it like all the 360 guys like to do (F360? Sounds like a special 3/4 ton Ford truck).
