    Came across this gallery: http://thethrottle.thechive.com/2012/01/09/ever-seen-this-four-door-ferrari-23-pictures/

I did a search for "Pinni" and surprisingly only an unrelated reference to "pinni factory" came up so I thought I'd enlighten those that may not be familiar with the Pinni.

More pics and the backstory: http://www.rmauctions.com/CarDetails.cfm?SaleCode=LF11&CarID=r184

Though the thought of a 4dr 4re is hard to get-around, I like the execution. Certainly looks better than the Panamera and it's dressed in my favorite color combo!

Maybe I'm not getting the joke here but a search for Ferrari Pinin not Pinni would have probably yielded more results?

...and somebody stole the lighter :)

Damn, I certainly feel and look like an idiot now. I didn't notice the spelling error, but that certainly does change the search results: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/search.php?searchid=5479230

    Thanks for the enlightenment. ;)

Mods, please the correct title and/or delete/merge this thread as needed/wanted.

    My apologies all...back to PG-13 I go. :D

Looks like a merge of an Aston Martin V8 Vantage Zagato front with a Ferrari 412 rear quarters.

Cadillac Allante in the rear. Or more correctly the Allante appears to have some Ferrari Pinnin styling cues. In that execution I'm not offended by a four door Ferrari.

Other than a desire for more traditional Ferrari tail lights, I love it and wish it would have gone into production.

Errr.... Didn't the Sultan of brunei have several 4 door Ferrari's made, such as the Ferrari 456 GTA Venice Sedan by Pinifarina and the 456 GTA Estate Car Venice? (http://www.ferrari-collection.net/sultan/index3.html#2 )

Interesting to see design elements in the inerior and dash that then were on the TR and mondial. Front and side view have a bit of Labcia thema in them, and the Thema 8.32 was as close to the the mythical 4 door ferrari as we are going to get.

More interesting is how restrained and simple the design is compared to the almost cartoonish designs we have today. Maybe the Pinin is a little too plain, but it is a paragon of virtue compared to the FF. I will make aprediction that the 456 in the future will become collectable, yes it is a 2+2 but it is also a fantastic and beautiful design, something that has been missing since on the front engined ferraris.

    BTW does the Pinin run?

My memory is just about gone , but IIRC (Forza issue # ???) it originally wasn't operational until a someone (owner?) paid many dollars to get it to run.

A very well known car for many years.

Puzzling why this 'one off' continues to go without a sale.

Hello , i'm owners of Ferrari Pinin One Off , i give pictures in Goodwood 2010 Carier Style et Lux and 2011 Concorso Maestri Carrozzieri in Trieste .
The Pinin is one of the Ferrari /Pininfarina prototype , published in all Ferrari /Pininfarina Books , also in the Ferrari Book 50th with Ing.Enzo Ferrari seat inside ,and also in the Ferrari Years Book year 2000 , Scaglietti and Pininfarina article.
And about the car not sold in London Auction is a sad story......................

I think when Pininfarina design the mask of Pinin was ispired by Ferrari 125 , if i remeber well i have read this in article in book.
The engine is flat 12 V180 with carburator , it's the same of BB 512 , but the different is that in the BB the gear box is under the engine , in the Pinin is straing rear the engine.
The sound is strange with 4meters of gas exaust , and the engine is few inches from the ground ,because the front ,and the car is very low.
About the front similar to the Opel senator , i think in 1980 the Pinin was a future car and has given rise to several lines of cars.
