    Nicolas,

Thank you very much for that great write-up!
You wrote that you intend to write about the the different racing teams... there is one book I can suggest you, it is written in french and english with the title:
"Willy Mairesse le chevalier meurtri" this could be interesting for your article, Mairesse not only drove the 250 GTO, he even helped to develop them!
    http://phautos.blogspot.com/2008/11/willy-mairesse-le-chevalier-meurtri.html

there is another book, which I have not yet finished reading, but quite impressive and very informative!! (ENB - Equipe Nationale Belge)

    au revoir

    Y.

Funny, that you spell the name of the 1st owner of #3809 in your race list as "von Crazy"..::))

    Ciao!

Walter, Mr Csazy would thank you. Corrected :)

Yves: thank you so much. I already have the ENB book, as well as "Scuderia Filipinetti" and "The colonel's Ferrari". Unfortunatly, no book seems to exist about the NART, which is really surprising. I'll check the Mairesse book.

That's strange, maybe someone can shed light on this? Even if no book exists about NART there is one about Luigi Chinetti, maybe that helps you out?

You can find the book about Mad Willy new for 40 euros.

Thanks a lot for your article and your nice pics.
You should be able to add some GTOs to your record as 4293GT is in the Tour Auto 2012 entry list.
    www.tourauto.com
4219GT is also registered but this one is a regular entrant. A third GTO is announced to be driven by William Heinecke. Do you know what is this car ?

About Rétromobile in Paris at the beginning of February, it is said that the 50 years of the Ferrari 250 GTO will be commemorated. Do you know what is expected ? Some GTOs will be present ?

They commemorated the 40 or 45 years of the GTO, by organising a tour through France, does someone know where this event is held for the 50th anniversary?

@Nicolas: I saw in your article that you mentioned the sources of your information, as the interest is growing (even more) on these cars, it would be an idea to list as much publications as possible, to help interested readers find articles...

I'll have a closer look this weekend in my archives, but so far I can tell you these:

    Classic&Sports Car Magazine:

    April 1986
    november 1987
    may 1995
    january 2001

    more to follow

Yves: I'd be interested by the book about Chinetti if you have any references.

No information about Retromobile, maybe 4293GT will be there, if it is already in Europe. I am also curious about the Heinecke car/

    Michael: this is incredible!

there could be more books about Chinetti, but the only one I have in mind is this one : The Road from Maranello - Chinetti, Luigi Jr.

amazing. thank you for the info and photos :)

i have a question: i have been thinking of creating an online photo album with pictures of all the GTO's in their natural habitat: race conditions, mainly pictures from their racing period. however, i've been worried if i would be infringing the picture owner's copyrights with that... can i legally do such thing?

Well, that's a delicate question and every photograph may have a different answer. My opinion is that as long as you give credit when you know the author, leave the watermark on the picture when there is one and don't try to make profit with someone else's pictures, that should be fine. Anyway, this is a personal opinon, not the lawyer one :)
