Can someone show me the correct way to remove the sidemarkers (front and back) and 3rd brake light (the one above the ferrari logo on the back) in order to replace bulbs... Ive tried looking in the service manuals/owners manual, but those only show the normal brake light and turn signals...

    Thanks

I don't know about the side marker lights but I replaced the bulbs in my 3rd brake light with the little plug in LED bulbs. They are push in bulbs on my 94 348 TS SS. I took this apart twice because the first time not all the bulbs worked. I had to spread the little contact wires to the outside a little on each bulb to get them to make contact. I also found out that the power to the 3rd light comes only when the lid is closed through a contact button.

The lens is NOT removed, the bulb socket is just turned and removed from the rear of the light assembly.

Sidemarkers: best acessed after wheel splash guard removal.. You then pull the rubber boot off and the boot contains the globes and wires.. This leaves a rubber gromett holding the amber lens in place.. This is the safest way..

But ive never done this but after removing it you could just pop off the amber lens from the outside.. but i dont recommend it..

    cheers

I also need to replace a bulb in the third brake light on my 99 355 F1. I believe it is going to be necessary to drill out 2 rivets that hold the little grill with the brake light.

I hope by bringing this thread back to life someone who has done it will chime in and help.

I didn't want to provide bad information as I haven't done it yet (on my project list), but from what I understand the top grille has to come off to install the challenge grill (drill out the rivets as you stated and take the top four screws out). Many replace the bulbs when this is done since you're "in there" already.

    Glad it worked out.

Thanks for the pics. I think I'll get roped into checking this over the weekend; my wife has started the "hey when are you going to get all these boxes out of here" crusade. :-D

Wow... I forgot I had to change those bulbs out!!

The rivets - once you drill 'em out, did you change to screws during reinstall, or did you go back and install new rivets? If screws, what size?

    Thanks

I used cherry rivets, I still need to paint them black.
I was wondering about using screws. Although I don't know if there is enough material to tread them into.
