I discovered today why my suspension light is illuminated. Front right shock actuator gears are broke. The gear attached to the shock and the gear inside the actuator is broke. I have searched and read other post about this problem although I couldn't find the method to remove the broken gears. And I see mention of someone named "captain z" that rebuilds the actuators, how do I find him? I searched the forum for his name and came up empty handed. Can anyone send me link with instructions to remove the gears? And or info on captain z? Thank you for the help Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Do a search in "Technical Q&A" for "Shock Actuators" There's all the information there you could possibly want.
The only thing you've broken there is the tiny little gear: http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?products_id=261324
Yep that is broken and I'll be ordering one from you. It also looks like part of the actuator is broken inside, a yellowish looking gear. Michael B thank you for the link I will contact him.
I think all your Shock Absorber needs changing! Look the Picture below the Absorber has this head pole that the little Gear its going on it and secures with a small Pin. In your Picture the head of the Pole is missing. This pole if you turn it Right/Left changes the softness of the Absorber. What are you going to do? There is no where to find a Pole to put in the Absorber. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You had me wondering for a minute. I ran to the garage and found the pole is still there,it's a little different shaped than the one you have. I can clearly see it with the roll pin sticking out. It's a little hard to see cause the gear half is still attached. I tried to get a picture of it Image Unavailable, Please Login
l hope im very wrong, otherswise you have a big problem. I wonder why the pole is so much down, actually it needs to face the gear high. lf you can attach a picture of the left absorber to compare would be fine. To take out the pin of the gear you need to take a needle or a drill that fits on the hole and hammer it, but very very tender.
I have a shock actuator for sale if anyone is interested. It may save you the hassle of replacing pins etc and you just put this in. PM me if interested.
