Hahaha, will do! BTW, I'm in town from April 24 til about mid-May. Hopefully there is a Spring cruise or gettogether and we can all catch up. It's been way too long. If I end up a GP, I will be sure to let you know LOL! No prostate exams por favor. Wouldn't a female doc be preferable for that? *sigh*
Yes...I took a look. This one is in rough shape. Interior looks like it's been through WWI and WWII - and I'm not kidding. It has yellow painted heads, non-factory wheels. This one has been punched. It is a spider model and I must admit a black roof on a black car almost looks good...but I do want a Berlinetta. Thanks. Edit...oh yes, the car is from the USA and has no records.
Well...it's been 2 weeks and the dealership hasn't called me back. Are they that busy? Kind of puts a sour taste in my mouth. I won't be calling them.
I would walk in, just go look at the car....check it off you're list if you are not happy with there process, but invest the time to educate yourself on their dime. Especially since the black one you mention is not for you. You will find the right car for you, it takes time....it took me 5 yrs before I found my first Ferrari to buy. Walk into FoO see what they have , they must have something in that basement, all that space can't be empty.
John, I see your frustration. You are right they should have called you back. But this is a Ferrari selling at a Toyota store. This store is not geared to sell these cars and the guy probably is just interested in selling his 4-5 Toyotas a week and going home. I have seen this a few times at stores that sell a specific brand and then you have some odd ball (to them) car that is for sale. It ends up getting forgotten and then finally sold by the owner to his buddy, neighbour or wholesaled to a store who has a client etc. If you really think this car has potential just walk in there and speak to the GM and tell him your thoughts. Just my .02
Vasco, you are absolutely right. The 360 belongs to the owner of the dealership, and is probably not marketed by the regular staff. You would need to speak directly to the owner and chat with him one on one. I understand what Johnny Canuck is going thru, but it is definitely worth his while to pick out a good quality local CAN car, instead of running around looking at these imported junkers.
Absolutely no surprise to me that a $69,000 360 would be nothing but a POS!, and a $100,000 360 would be nothing less of a gem!
There is actually a 430b one owner car for 130 red/tan that I know of that I'm considering , and it's a 6 speed...... Johnny is you are interested , contact me I will lead you to him, he is a friend of an fchatter here....bought new at FoO in 2005.....might be had for 125.
+1 Could this be a case where a dealership is using a "flashy car" to get traffic in? Is the car actually for sale? John - if you're not stuck on a 360 there is a 430 here in Edmonton that appears to be priced competitively. I haven't seen it, or know anything about it other than what's mentioned in the ad... http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-2005-Ferrari-F430-W0QQAdIdZ338366905 Good luck with the search!
This dealership doesn't need a 360 parked out front to sell crap loads of toyotas a month... Especially in Brampton
I love where this is going John, 1st came on line here looking for a 328, and from there it to a 355, 360, well hell how about a 430 now! Good thing we only have one model left after the 430 but very deep pockets would be required for that one!!! Again have a look at the "Red Head" best deal around right now.
Wow...in a Volvo dealership no less. Thanks, but my budget just can't go that far at this time. Looks like a pretty nice car though. Thanks for sharing.
Yes...you are correct to show the "evolution" of my search. It seems this happens with a lot of first time Ferrari buyers. I'd still be with the 328's if I and other family members could fit in properly, but as stated earlier, we can't. So, moving up to the 355 and infatuating about it for 2 months I somehow evolved again to the 360. It seems for a bit more $ you get much more of a modern car - not withstanding the merits of the 355 - 1995 model year, which seem rather good and still tug at my heart. As for the 430...well, I'd need much more $$$ than I currently am willing to "invest". No question it's desireable...as is the 458, which is hopefully where I'll progress towards after testing the Ferrari ownership waters with a 360 for a few years first. Want to see where the depreciation factors end up placing the 458's in a couple of years. Guys...I do appreciate all the concern you've expressed. I really like the interaction and suggestions and being made aware of other options. Hopefully I'll get to meet with many of you in the Toronto area this coming year. The search continues.
Pretty impressive prices on decent looking 430's. Is it me or have the 430's tanked faster than the 360's? The 360 was stuck in that $170k range much longer.
Correct, I suspect the down draft on the 430 will continue until they are absorbed from the guys unloading them for the much prettier 458. And Big Red I Agee that TODAY the 430 you described for $125-$130 sounds like a no brainer, but two years from now I think we would be looking at a considerably lower number for that car, which is ok because that's the only way ill find my rear end in the drivers seat on that one or just maybe a sweet black 360cs!
From the 348 and up to present they are all unfortunately destined to be 50k cars.....too many out there in the Ferrari arena, and throw Ina ll the vettes, vipers, amg, and the likes....it will be a mess for a very very long time....good to be a shopper, there is soooooo much choice it's amazing....I just ordered the 2013 5.0 convertible , it has 420hp and for under 50 grand as a DD , it's almost impossible for any of these other cars to go, but DOWN !
Congratulations on the 5.0 convertible, Red, your going to look great cruising down the road with your hair blowing in the wind, oh yea I forgot!
Very funny , thanks I suspect the fcars will be driven even less this year than last year So much good product out there these days, it's amazing what we can buy , maserartis, astons, vettes, pcars, heck, even caddy has that cts-v ..... Great time in history to buy an fcar IMO. I would suspect you can find a pretty great 360 for under six figures on the road.
Very true, but I'm waiting for that elusive 360cs to come down from it's current level of $150,000. I guess will see if my patience pays off with that one.
It will, maybe we get a 2 for one I love the cs myself, red/blk and the strip....I just couldnt afford it when Ryan was selling his, but time is still on our side.
For me it's black with strips, like the one listed in FerrariAds, and or black without the strip as the one FoQ has in their showroom. The silver cs with strips that FoO had about 2 years ago was also stunning.
It was but those were also better days for everyone especially those in the USA. John...Like ive said before...take your time. There are hundreds of good cars out there when looking at as many models as you are. I know you now like the 360 BUT. Most people have had a 3X8 model and are looking to buy a newer model jump the 348 and go to the 355 just like most that move up from the 355 will go to the 430. If you are really in love with the 360 then my advice is to take a hard look at the 430 otherwise stay with a 355 untill you are ready to move up. If you buy a 355, you wont move up for a long time.
