If I'm correct, the BATA option has nothing to do with the seats at all. Rather, its the option that covers the wheel well arches, in this case with alcantara (thus I assume the seatch themselves have either full or partial alcantara).

Are you looking at the black/black car that Exotic Motors is selling with the BATA option?

    http://www.exoticmotorsmidwest.com/2008-ferrari-430-scuderia-black-on-black-em-161870/

This car appears to me to be full alcantara (and has some nice aftermarket carpets making the interior appear very complete). NOTE: This car was on the market with 500 less miles mid-summer. At the time, it was being sold by Select Luxury in Atlanta, and ask back then was $180K. EM is now asking $185K! Scuderias are appreciating in the winter!!! Ha-ha!

Here is the link to Select Luxury's ad: http://www.selectluxury.com/web/used...37/?store=1972

    Good luck in your search!!

    Cheers,

    DL

Right, the first year may be a good option if a buyer does not know all the so called "problem areas" or items that have been verified that scuderias have been in the shop for.

Electrical items I have not seen to many of them, which is not saying it won't or hasn't happened. You had a claim for bushings which is not an electrical item. However, I have heard of a wire harness that was bad in the early 2008's, but not many.

Regarding this scuderia that the OP is looking at: I would more than likely get the extended warranty after reading about it here on this thread. Keep in mind the dealer will make commision on the warranty which is in thier best interest to sell it to the buyer.

4k is not to much----give it to the dealer and establish a relationship with them towards your next Ferrari purchase and secondly you will get a piece of mind and feel good about yourself.

    Hello Everyone,

Few questions about extended warranty. Is the price set by Ferrari ie is it standard everywhere or is it set by the dealership.

Its time for me to purchase an extended warranty for my car since the factory warranty will expire on Feb the 12th. In Abu Dhabi (UAE) the Ferrari Dealership gave me these prices.

    Power cube is for $6793
    Power normal is for $4619
    Power train is for $3804

Are those prices similar to what you guys are quoted in North America and Europe?
I plan on getting the power cube coverage for the first year out of factory warranty and then drop down to power normal.
Any suggestions or advice is appreciated.

I imagine Ferrari charges the dealer a cost (and I bet that cost varies from country to country based on exchange rates if nothing else). And, I'm certain here in the US that dealers can (and do) charge different prices for it. And, there is a different cost depending upon which car you are adding it to (12 cylinder is more than 8 for example).

Finally, those prices are very much in-line with the range of prices I've been quoted in the US. That said, I have gotten quotes as low as $3000 for the PT and $3800 for the PN.

Oh, one more thing. You are required to have an inspection and compression test performed in order to qualify to purchase any of these. That cost is sometimes included in the cost that is quoted from the dealer (i.e. one price for both) and other times a dealer will provide you with a seperate cost for each item (for example the quotes I mentioned above did not include the inspection/compression test). The inspection and compression test is something like $500 more at my dealer. And, if you do this at the time of another service which includes its own inspection, then they waive the warranty required inspection (because you are already paying for it in the service) and only charge ~$200 for the compression test.

    Hope this helps.

The warranties are age related, you can't choose which one you want except in year 5 when there is the option of cube or normal.

    3 year manufacturer
    4 th yr Cube
5 th yr Cube or Normal
    6 th yr Normal
    7 th yr Train
    8 th yr Train
    9 th yr Train

I was told by a reliable source, that power cube is a lot more money for not a lot more of coverage.

They explained that the typical problems that come up needing repair fall under power normal and that the additional parts covered with power cube are rarely if ever needed.

    Just my $0.02

That's about how much I was quoted in California. Be aware that Power Cube is NOT the same as factory warranty. It is not bumper to bumper like the factory warranty. I'd probably get the power normal had I known the difference.

With regard to the "engine and transmission", I don't *think* so...but of course you should ask for the documents before deciding and spending the money.

So do you have a choice on warranty in the US, as I say in the UK only in year 5 do you get to choose. I had assumed it was the same everywhere!

1-3 years old is manufacturer warranty
4 th year is Power Cube
5 th year is Power Cube or Power Normal
6 th year is Power Normal
7 th year is Power Train
8 th year is Power Train
9 th year is Power Train

There are "conditions" that have to be met, however, to buy the Cube in year 5. Its confusing as written, but *I think* you have to have had the cube in place for year 4 AND you have to buy the year 5 cube by a certain date (not sure if its the exact date the year 4 cube expires or no later than 60 days after it expires). We see very few cars in the US (I can't recall seeing one) with a year 5 cube, but technically its possible.

And, the other *choice* we get (and I think everywhere) is that you can always opt to buy a *lower* warranty at any time. Meaning in year 4 and onward you can buy PowerTrain if you like. And, similarly, in year 4 or 5 you can buy PowerNormal even though you have the option to go up to PowerCube.

Could be correct, we get Power Cube in year 4 as standard to give 4 year warranty so 5th year timing/options probably doesn't occur in the same way.
