Forget your price model. Some special paints can be totally detrimental to value, others like this have a huge positive effect, someone will see it and buy it at virtually any price (within reason), the paint is that special.

Nuovo Rosso Scuderia is an incredible color. The asking price for this Scuderia is very reasonable IMO.

The Biaco Fuji one just dropped 10k, but still has quite a ways to go. 347 miles for 100k plus depreciation. Ridiculous. Russell, how many miles on your 16m? How much clear bra have you installed?

16m's will dump once more 458 Italia Spiders start showing up. There have been buyers around 250-259, but sorry, 280-299, doesn't seem to be any buyers at this level.

You talked incessantly as if you were perplexing impetuously.

I have yet to see a photo of someone's garage with a 360CS and 430SCUD both in red, it would be a great exhilaration indefinitely.

Your discern is a little alarming. I don't see how the prices would 'dump' as the 16m would probably be the last track day v8 Ferrari that is able to show it's beautiful engine canvas. Whereas the 458 track version's spider would probably stick to the new technology that blankets the engine's visibility. Seems to be a petite conjecture on your behalf. Sorry if I sounded irrepressible for a moment but I was a little surprised at how people saw the 16m's future value that way.

They will dump because most will want the newer 458 Spider. No buyers, price has to come down low enough to create buyers. I don't see the 16m as a "track" car. Don't understand your "engine canvas.". Don't see a 16m in your profile, so I don't understand your "alarming discern?"

Look at all the new Scud buyers, price was too high, came down to realistic numbers, now there are a ton of buyers. Win, win. Guys with Scuds want to move up to the 458, guys with 360's and 430's want to move up to Scud.

I have driven 3 different 458 so far, and moving to a 458 from a Scuderia is a move down. My car is that much better in every aspect. Evidently, my Scuderia is drastically better than what it was when new.

On a different aspect, the Scuderia looks expensive inside, outside, through the engine window, the 458 looks expensive just outside, the interior needs more refinement, surely the 2014 458 will resolve the interior look and quality, and very likely say good bye to the gizmo flexible front wing, I'm referring to the 2014 458 Corsa (the Scuderia/Stradale version).

The incoming 2014 458 will be a move up from a 430 Scuderia, but expect the premium to be in the $200k range + a donor used Scuderia. Next time, I will wait for the overpriced track day car to depreciate massively after 2 years.

I have no doubt I bought the right car, but society always wants the new toy. Great way for all of us Scud fans to experience such a great car with low miles.

How is the 16m not a track car, isn't it a spider Scud after all? I don't need to have a 16m in my profile to show alarming discern, I can read all about the current world affairs and still show a little discern yet I don't have the world at my feet. With regards to the engine canvas, have a look at the 458 Spider, is the engine visible? My point is the 16m is probably the last spider v8 which still has a viewable engine, while throwing the production number of possibly 500 and being a track orientated car helps boosts it value in 12 years time or so. No need to jostle in a querulous manner too much..

    A small jest.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. More like a joust seems like. Why, I guess because you can. Never heard a 16m owner say that they don't plan on upgrading to the 458 Spider because they can't see the engine when it's parked. :)

Not sure the fact you wouldn't want to roll a spider has a bearing on it being/or not being a track car. Usually it's stiffness (lack of) and extra weight (to help the previous point) that mean most purists don't consider it a track car. Ferrari have done a great job with the 16M making it stiff and light, to the point I can't tell the difference, but of course ultimately it is heavier and not as stiff as a Scud. Plenty of open top track cars including F1, Le Mans, single seaters etc etc, wouldn't want to roll any of them!

I don't think anyone buys a 16M with the serious intention of tracking it. There is always a possibility, but with prices as high as they are and the limited production numbers, I don't see many reasonable people making it there track car. If they were serious track goers and wanted the raw Fcar experience then they would but a Scuderia(also cheaper this way). While you can argue that any car can be tracked(and argue until the point is exhausted) the 16M probably isn't the one that you'd want to do it in. I'm sure it can hold its own just about anywhere, but its not really a track car in the sense that you'd want to use it for that purpose.

    Just my take anyway.

Amen... maybe the above is another reason why scud prices are creeping back up. As time goes on people are starting to see the above comment holds truth.

Hmmm, interesting thoughts. I like to use earned vacation, and jester.

I bought my recent Scud for the thrill of driving it. I know it will not be appreciating over the long run, but all you have to do is watch 1 of F430gt's videos to know that any depreciation you might get is more then worth it.

The car is absolutely stunning, and really needs to be seen in the flesh to appreciate the 4-layer pearl paint. It really looks different in different types of lighting. Cost for the paint was just over $28,000. Car's original MSRP was $335,780 plus the extensive amount of 3M paint film applied (entire hood, front fenders, and front bumper).

As everyone can imagine, the car is absolutely perfect. It's easily the nicest Scud I have ever seen.

Dedication plate was autographed by Kimi Raikonnen at the factory. Very cool!
