Fantastic pictures of those birds. I suppose it was too early to snap any Great Tits? Mind you, probably cold enough to catch a few Blue Tits? .........I guess I just had to say it !

Beautiful side profiles on 2 bulls. Big contrast. Interesting how your side shots clearly show elements of two Lambos from 2 ERAs along the lineage. Very different looks on the lines (colors will also make a big diff 2, the Aventador mostly wears grey, matte black, white while the previous ERA popularized lime green, yellow).
I just find it interesting how the Aventador seems much more popular in red than the Murcielago...never really thought of red as a Lambo colour, more like a Ferrari one.
Indeed. I agree. The first and only road going Aventador in HK I came across was when I was driving up Wong Nai Chung gap road. It was a Maroon colored Aventador. Not the Rosso Corsa kind but more like Rosso Fuoco. I saw it 2 months ago. Did you ever see it? It brings me to this interesting thread which I read: http://jalopnik.com/5881998/ten-car-colors-that-need-to-make-a-comeback/gallery/1 It is interesting how certain car colors can define the circa of the car. Yellow is a color made popularized in the late 90s with the launch of the first gen SLK. Then we saw many many cars in yellow. For e.g., speed yellow on the 993 and 996 GT2. E46 M3 in Phoenix Yellow and E32 M3 also in a yolk yellow. 2001 first generation murc also popularized yellow which later on was superseded by gunmetal grey/stealth fighter grey to now Matte Black and Matte White. Colour truly defines the vintage on a car. Silver cars were really in but now the most popular color is White since the GT3 started wearing Carrara White. With my limited experience, my observation is that Ferrari now wears white well especially the 458 and even FF despite majority is still in Rosso Corsa. I think Matte Black and Grey are more current colors for the raging bull.
I haven't seen it in person but I've seen pictures and it looks pretty nice. There are at least two in a bright orangey-red in HK, though (haven't seen those either). I can't say much about generations being defined by colour, as I'm only 16 and most of the knowledge I have about cars comes from what I notice at SMD's and from my footbridge photo taking... the only thing I've really noticed is that HK people like silver and black a lot. Now that you mention it, quite a few newer cars do seem to be in white, although I'd say that silver and black cars still outnumber white ones by far. IMO there's a definite lack of pre-LP560/458 generation supercars in white...I've only seen three white non-Scuderia F430's. A bit of a shame as I think quite a few of the older models do look quite nice in white. I have a personal dislike of grey, got sick of it after my parents bought both our current cars in grey, LOL.
Not actively out to take photos of cars yesterday, but I did see these out and about... Agree with a lack of "WHITE" as a color for Ferraris. NSX Type R is nice in WHITE. I actually think White is the new Silver now.
Interesting catch on the M3. E36 M3 came in yolk yellow and electric blue. Colours follow trends (except for Ferrari which Rosso Corsa is a definitive color). For e.g., White as the new Silver and MATTE colors as the new trendy colours. Yellow is very special to me. It does define the special aura, circa and vintage of a car. It's a color that gained popularity in the 90s. The most notable examples are 993/996/996 GT2 in speed yellow, M3 in Yellow and F355/360 in yellow. Popularity waned in early 2000s when people started to pay attention to White (most notable 997 MK 1 GT3) and CARRARA WHITE was quite a color (THE RS 4.0 has this as a show color too). Early examples of Gallardos and Murc (most notable in the 2000-2002 circa) were all in yellow. Then you start to notice that Gallardos and Murc moved into an era which gun metal grey and battleship grey were the dominating colors. Most Gallardos and Murc in mid 2000s wore Grey and Black more (by inspection and observation more, of course no solid data) so yellow is a special color that clearly ear marked an era when souls loved yellow. We are now in an era which I think Orange, White and Matte are very acceptable and I wonder if in 10 years' time, we would all look back and say, yes, that Matte Aventador, very yester year... I am more a Rosso Corsa conservative person. I know in 20 years later, it will still look what like what it was meant to wear. Yellow is reminiscent of the good o days when America and continental Europe were in better shape. Of course, driving a speed yellow 993 or a 996 inspires a sense of nostalgia. Admittedly, I have not seen a 997 MK 1 or 2 in yellow in person. It was no longer popular for 997s.
I have a speed yellow 993RS and it is sooooooo cool. My 355 Spider is also yellow and that is my favourite colour for that car. So I am following your observation
Yellow 997's not GT3/RS though http://www.flickr.com/photos/-icyj-/6202389149/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/-icyj-/6202391723/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/-icyj-/6486334639/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/-icyj-/6202905684/
In my opinion Speed Yellow is the colour of choice for the 993 in any of its incarnations. Although a 993 in full race trim? Well, it has got to be white for me.
took these pictures on tuesday outside Maserati, picture from cell phone only i am surprise that no one here talks about ff arrived hk Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
There have been customers FFs registered and on the road for over a month. The red demo with the t-plate is old news. It was at the 458 Spider launch
If you read older posts we've talked about it quite a bit. I posted a couple of pics of this very car last month... See two or three on the roads since (two registered), but not managed any decent photos worth posting. Thanks for sharing the pics with us though!
Nice pictures, very rich color showing in the pictures. May I ask what kind of camera and lens you are using?

DM, I have 2 good buddies who loved vintages (and they had lost all interests in new Porsches). One of them owned the 993 Turbo S, yellow, the interior and gauges were so well made with the 5 coke bottle design and carbon trims that it put my 997 C4S PDK to shame back then on fit and finish. Very very cool car and it sounded so cool. It is retro in a cool manner. He now jets around town in his refurbished E30 M3 in white he imported from UK. I tell you the E30 M3 inspired a lot of good old days of raw man's car. Admittedly, modern days 911 is very well mannered and kempt, perhaps a good thing to most but it also turned away a lot of car enthusiasts. Admittedly, I was most disappointed when I bought my first 911 which was a 997 C4S PDK. The car was so quiet. I wanted my sports car to make a little more sound. It looks like a lot of my good friends now have lost all interests in new cars solely because they find good nostalgia in older cars be it a R32 GTR or 964. I saw many of them going back in time driving 993 Turbo S and most notably black 964 Turbo. Those cars roars and they are very very cool. Less digital and a lot more human with driver's connections were what I was told. The other friend had a 996 GT2 in Yellow which belonged to Aaron Kwok. Aaron bought it as his first really serious cool sports car and he bought it off a dealer. Aaron had a love for yellow as I believe he did own a yellow Gallardo as well. Both were very cool wearing the right skin. I also think that the F355 looked best in yellow and rosso corsa. The 355 spider in yellow would be very cool despite I haven't seen one for a while. Did see a 550 Maranello Spider around in Central some time. Admittedly, the 993 Turbo S was really really cool as it was so well built that it made the 997 very mass produced and plastic "ky". It was in yellow. I sat in it and checked it out and I immediately noticed the carbon trimmings and the 5 coke bottle gauges in analogues and the steering wheel, it felt very very solid and special. The older Porsches like 964 Turbo and 993 Turbo/S all sounded so much more authentic and raw. Most importantly, I thought the 355 had one of the best engine sound as it was more raw, authentic. The 458 admittedly is a little more artificial so I heard? Then I wouldn't be expert enough to know. Sounds get tuned more these days and hence, more artificial.
Nothing extraordinary this morning but I thought this was a nice pic http://www.flickr.com/photos/-icyj-/6860975265/in/photostream (458 next to F430 next to 360) Also, what the hell is this...? http://www.flickr.com/photos/-icyj-/6861018585/
