Bought a 1990 SE Turbo Esprit yesterday. Car wont be here till next week. Car does have the X180R wheels on it (rare?) I just dont like them. Anybody know a place to even see much less buy Lotus Esprit wheels? I would consider V8 Esprit wheels, but there are none on Ebay. Stock SE wheels are ugly too. Ideas? Congrats - love the color! Off topic - will you still pursue the Euro QV you have been looking for? Good luck with it!
Ill buy your wheels if you decide to sell them.. I think they would look good on mine, I don't like the stock either,.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
i bought one a few weeks ago. I was looking for a 2nd euro 308. "wingman" with the yellow 308 in Nevada never returned my pm's on his yellow car, so i have moved on. Hoping to buy a 87 911 this weekend also. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had a set of OZ 3-piece on my '94 S4 that looked great. Also, Compomotive has some very nice styles is various sizes and bolt patterns. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Michael...... Why don't you drive the car for a few thousand miles first before you spend money on cosmetics ? It's what I would do.
I like the wheels that came with the car. maybe paint the centers yellow for the full Jim Clark retro look? otherwise, check the classifieds at LotusTalk. all sorts of goodies there.
Car should be here tomorrow. I had a red /gray 89 SE, with 2 sets of wheels. The v8 wheels were stunning but they did make the steering much heavier. Ill wait and drive the car a bit, but I still want to replace those wheels on the green car. Anybody know if there was a BBS style "mesh" wheel available? Gold wheels on a green car i think would look nice. pics of my former red car from 2006 or so. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Car is here. Big, huge major surprise : The factory manuals ( both of them) were included in the car, as was the jack kit and spare. To say i am happy about that would be an understatement! Car runs well, started doing pre flight stuff. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I used some spacers/adapters to go from the 5x108MM pattern to 5x114.3 which opens up all sorts of wheel possibilities. 17x9 F/R one has +25mm and the other has +40mm offsets...forget which is which at the moment. With the 25mm spacer it pretty close to OEM wheel offsets Just an option Image Unavailable, Please Login
info : Front 7JX15 +23.3 REAR 8.5JX16X8.5 +30.0 BOLT PATTERN 5X108 I really am liking the idea of using adapters. I could use 16 inch wheel in the front, and a 17 in the rear. i want a gold face BBS style wheel. HRE Vintage has one I like. Just wanted to say thank you. The wheel choices and possibilities this opens up are great. i wont track the car, nor really drive it hard on public roads, so this may be my only course of action. ( after I get the car roadworthy)
If you are talking about the new vintage series from hre they only come in 18 in and above. The only thing about adapters is you have to run a higher offset which means smaller lip. If you want you could probably get bigger lips for these and have the only lotus with hre535. Not sure about the hub size on the lotus but im sure there are some hub centric rings or if it is to small have it bored out a little bit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HRE-wheels-16x6-16x7-Staggered-5x108-Volvo-vintage-/130648204227?hash=item1e6b3d63c3&item=130648204227&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr#ht_500wt_1287
