    This is a picture of the result! It is the Ricambi Yellow Tach insert... Don't you like it?! I think it is awesome and it took me only 3 hours to install thanks to the instructions posted on this forum! did u notice i painted the needles red? looks agressive :) ... there are also some instructions on how to do that on this forum...
    drawbacks to watch for: 1- you loose the horse emblem in the center. Some on this forum succeeded beautifully to add it on but it is black and doesn't get lit at night. 2-the marks on the tach are blueish when lit at night... hmmm ...not too sexy, 3- the red needles are not lit enough at night... there are some comments about this on this forum... I will try them for some time and see...
    Regards

    It looks really cool. You should be ashamed to take that pic doing under 100 or revs <6000!

    Marc- The trick on the needles is to only paint the bottom of the two pieces of material making up the needle. Translucent paint would work even better.

    Your cluster looks great. Until I found an actual Superamerica gauge cluster for my 575M, I was going to bond the small silver cavallino from an extra key I picked up. Just about the right size. If you have the black cavallino added to your tach, I would not worry too much about it not lighting up at night. Only you will know.

    CF trim would look good, too.

    Looks good but wondering why you only changed the rev counter facia with the 612/599 style yellow but left all the other dials as Modena style?

    Prosport are selling the full dials kit (all dials), a full Challenge Stradale dial kit on special offer right now http://www.prosport-ferrari.co.uk. Just checked xe.com currenty converter and it works out at around $250 the full kit. They have them in both MPH and KM (So you can use these dials to convert a Euro spec 360 to US spec).

    Apart from my car I have seen these fitted on several 360's now and they look great, identical to CS ones, especially if you fit the carbon surround garnish around the dials (also a similar price I believe).

    I'll post up how I solved the backlight issue when I can get some more free time...

    Oh, Terry, i did paint just the bottom, but used plastic model paint... will retry with translucent... any detail on that, name , tyoe, spray or brush? thx...
    360trev, can u post a pic of the dials in your car ?

    One very important remark: rattling... I had this annoying rattling noise sometimes coming from the dashboard... it bothered me so much, but now after i did the yellow tach installation, i found the problem and solved it: one of the dial covers (oil temp) was vibrating inside the kit. I solved it by placing silicon 3 dots on the perimeter of each cover then closed the kit again... may be i should have a separate thread for that...

    cheers

    Bill,

    Will do a proper write up soon, in the meantime;

    Here is DIY manual (basically just cutting out the shape and attaching 2 wires to an invertor which connects to the battery via an inline fuse to your ignition power, take a tap from your lights on or cigarette lighter circuit) from a seller from Hong Kong on ebay selling a kit for only a tenner including the invertor!

    DIY Manual;
    http://www.cooltronix.com/ebay/diy/
    Ebay link to item;

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EL-Neon-Foil-DIY-Kit-White-Electroluminescent_W0QQitemZ230235932614QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_PC_Cases_Towers?hash=item230235932614

    (If the item has sold search on EL (Electroluminescent) D.I.Y. Kit - Color White)

    Finally, there are some custom build [professional] solutions but these companies want $600 tooling costs to make the shape for the 360 cs dials.

    Marc- Unfortunately, I cheated, and the 575 Superamerica instrument cluster comes from the factory exactly like you see it. It had to be repaired when I found it, but now works perfectly after FAI fixed the damage from a circuit board fire. FAI also matched my old odometer reading to the SA cluster.

    CF is carbon fiber and a CF overlay for the 360 dash is available from several sources, including our sponsor McCarbon. The attached photo shows the CS instrument panel with CF overlay and the CS instruments Trev referenced.

    Trev- The tach face is actually adapted from the f430 and is Ricambi's second edition of the yellow overlay. The sale price they show at ProSport is excellent at 175 pounds for the entire set of instrument faces. I actually prefer the 430 style myself, but both look great. Since you have the closest thing to a manual shifter CS known to man, with improvements, I can see why you would want all CS dial faces.

    The needles look a little orange like rossa scuderia not rossa corsa. Is that true or just an optical illusion.

    For those that painted, did you use a simple model paint? If so did you use lacquer or acrylic? OR, did you mask and use a spray paint?

    Thanks for the information. I think I finally will do my tach this weekend and I would paint the needles but I don't want to do it twice.

    you are right about the light red... i did not want to make it too dark ... i used simple model paint and a small brush. So i recommend to make sure of what to use before you start this project. I am still in the search before i take it off again.
    Also make sure u read in details the corresponding threads all the way to the end... Theinstructions are pretty clear. I added the silicon dots on the clear cover to make sure they do not rattle. I recommend that.
    Good Luck

    guys just did mine with the Prosport kit posted result on this thread with some needle painting pics, very happy with the results:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=176480&page=4

    this is the paint i use, got it from ebay I ordered the red and orange but when it arrive the red looked better and closer to the CS needle colour. its $5 with free shipping, took 2/3 weeks to arrive but worth the wait.

    Thanks ... im pretty happy with the night look, probally cant get much better unless you changed the lighting panel behind to a CS one.

    Needles: I only painted the underside (ONLY where the original white paint was) nothing else, made sure the sides and top were still completely clear.

    This looks great and I'm thinking of doing the same thing to my 360. Is there an actual way to get the horse to shine through?

    Thanks,

    I fell for the same suggestion REd model paint will NOT light up! Upon reading many posts from people who do this for a living You need to use FLUORESCENT paint not just red model paint . Some just leave the neeles in place and mask around and then spray with Krylon Glow which looks more stock then RED which the needles are not. FUnny how different approach to a simple issue .. Still learning myself .

    Yes, scrape off the white paint from the bottom of the needle & repaint it with the fluorescent orange paint.

    I went a step further & painted the bottom & the sides with good results (probably overkill)

    Be careful shaking the bottle when you mix the paint (has a BB inside). The third time I used it I shook it vigorously & cracked the bottom off the bottle. Quite a mess.

    On a side note....

    My car came with the Ricambi yellow tach installed. I was never happy with backlighting. Looked ok in normal light. I replaced it with the Prosport set & am very pleased with the result. As close to OE you can get, IMO.
