I am telling you that mainland Chinese have a peculiar perspective towards work ethic and quality of work. Bob and I and many others have done business with factories in China for dozens of years. Kai
I am still trying to work out what your point is regarding oficial dealerships. What are you saying, that there are none? What was your original point in post #21? Are you saying that if one buys a brand new FF it is serviced at an indy and not a dealer? And when u say Bob and i, whos Bob? Should i know him.
Well, I suggest next time you look and see that I live in Hong Kong --- right here: Image Unavailable, Please Login
There's several official dealerships. Three I know of are Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing. Of course there is one in Hong Kong. I've been only to the Beijing dealership in the mainland. My point is that a brand new car can have a problem caused by a mechanic's mistake -- in any country. I don't know if that's what the problem is here but it looks like an oil fire, not gasoline. It could be something as simple as not tightening the oil filter or drain plug. Anything is possible. I have no idea why my comment blew up as big as it has. It's a simple statement that I thing anyone can understand. NO WHERE did I infer that Chinese mechanics or work were inferior. Let me make this perfectly clear.
So what that you work there. You know why i responded to your reply. And it only blew up because Kaivball comented. It seems maybe his views differ from yours by the looks of his posts. No harm done, i was sticking up for the Chinese regarding your original responce.
Yes, and I CORRECTED YOU. You see... I corrected YOU. YOU misunderstood what was being said. YOU should be saying I'm sorry for misunderstanding the post. YOU should be saying I understand now what you were referring to. And I should be saying: No problem, I'm glad we understand each other now. That's how this thing works.
Lol yea right. I dont hear YOU saying sorry for not making yourself clear. I will drop it myself now, but i am sure there will be a few jump on the waggon, thats Fchat
The workmanship standards in mainland China are different than in other developed countries. When you have to take cement samples during construction of your factory to ensure you are not being cheated you know you are not in Kansas anymore. My experience has shown that if they can find a perceived short cut or cheaper way to do something, they will do it, consequences be damned. Unless you put controls and quality tests at every step of the way. So yes, could I envision a Ferrari tech willfully taking a different route than the factory manual prescribes to perform a repair? Unequivocally, yes. That being said, I still do business in China but have learned to trust nobody and verify and control everything. Kai
Man that sounds like you are talking about most oficial Ferrari dealerships i have come across here in Europe
Geez some people just don't know how to make friends. OK, I think I've covered it but I'll say it one more time. I am very sorry if anyone misunderstood my post.
No you did not cover it (saying sorry), but now you have So in return i also apologies Now thats how it works lol
Ugh, what a shame. They certainly know how to write a catchy headline, "Tired of life in Shanghai, Ferrari FF self immolates". I wonder if that will be the first FF I see on Copart. Here are the pics if the article goes poof... You know, after the day I've had today, the back-and-forth here really put a smile on my face. It feels like I'm at home ... I say or do something innocent, my wife misinterprets, calamity ensues! Thanks, Shado, for making my day more interesting. Pretty sad life I live, I suppose.
Well, its the same for me. I come back home with my SUV boot filled to the brim with parts for my carbon ceramic brake conversion, big grin on my face wanting to share the joy with her but then she unleashes hell on me. I wonder why. Seriously, Men are from Mars, Women are from....hmmm....

That appears to be on a track. Not sure I've ever seen a station wagon on a track and not end up smoking or wrecked.
