You know, it is just that the annual salt truck b!tch post is kind of old. Folks post as if VDOT are completely incompetent or has a vendetta against all those with cars made of metal. ;) I am sure the VDOT guy will appriciate the Beer.

    Now that's funny.

And for the record, PennDOT is trying their best to make up for a mild winter by throwing as much salt as humanly possible in the last few days. Gotta get that 2013 budget money. Idiots.

+1 Can't comment on VA, but in PA the amount of salt on the ground is so absurd it is almost comical.

It is laid on here so thick its like driving on gravel. It is going to take one hell of a rain storm to wash this stuff away :(

Up here in Allentown it's horrible. The ground is white. It's that bad.

In southern maryland they put the salt down for the rain event. They must have had to spend the $$$ or the budget for next year would have been crap. Also they must have had some overtime they had to use :D Every thing is white.... and its not snow

I must they they put down way more here than they do in Ohio and Michigan. Though part of that may just be because both of those states are broke...

Not everyone is hiding their cars because of the salt, I saw a 458 and a 456 out in Arlington this evening.

Eastern part of Montgomery Country in MD is pretty heavy with the salt, sand, and brine coating. I was especially surprised how much had been laid down on the ICC even back during the Super Bowl weekend.

I'm not informed on how MD contracts their crews, but you could presumably imagine that some of the crews are contractors. Perhaps counties want to make sure they get their money's worth on those contracts.

I'm holding off driving the toy for a few weeks anyway. Just to avoid the airborne debris.

Joe is right! And my parking lot at work is even worse! However, the rain overnight did a good job of cleaning most of the roads, and we're supposed to get more tomorrow and into Friday, so it looks like Saturday the toys can come out!

I was in Myrtle Beach at Grandma's 90th birthday celebration and family reunion. Almost drove the 430 down actually. The forecast for the return was too sketchy to be sure I'd get back safely, so bagged it. She needs a run tomorrow though. I don't do trickle chargers. Been a week.

Maybe I'll get to GF this weekend. I don't tend to do that one all that terribly often. Depends if I have a wing man.

I have a battery charger tool that will boost that up for you if you need it Bob.. saved me many times.

Also, I may be down to roll to Great Falls with you Saturday if we caravan on the way there.. maybe we don't do the super duper early session but something closer to brunch so we can grab something to eat there? Anyone else interested?

Have to see closer to Saturday. Rough week. Pretty sure everyone rolls out of GF by 9:30, part of the agreement with the shopping center so customers have a place to park. If we're getting together later than that, might as well make it Lansdowne, or maybe cruise down to FOW and stare at Scud's for a while.

I connected my trickle charger, went for a walk, came back and she started right up. Had a good run. I'm finally learning how to enjoy that car. Takes a while getting used to high RPM fun coming from American muscle, or the Porsche.

Last Saturday was goodie GF... I think it's getting warmer out there! I won't be able to go this weekend (I've got a grandmas 90th to go to myself), but hopefully I can meet up with you guys the following weekend.
