I understand the concept, I don't agree with the solution that's been implemented. It seems quite heavy-handed IMO.

You may view this as a turd, I see this as an opportunity to improve the community. Don't be so quick to judge...

    Oh, it's nothing new.

Filter was put in place years and years and years ago.

This thread was just a reminder.

I recently joined another forum where ALL profanity is allowed.

Let me tell you, it's not something I would want to have here if I owned Ferrari Chat.

I swear ALL the time, I am probably one of the worst people in the world for it. I cuss in front of my friends, in front of my Wife and even in front of my parents. I don't hold back and it's unfortunate I picked this terrible habbit up at my work. It's part of the culture there and you become so used to it, you don't even realise you are doing it most times. :(

When I sit back and read someone else's profanity on an internet forum, I happen to find it disgusting. I can put up with the occasional swear word, everyone can.

I rarely swear here and when I do, the filter takes care of it. The other forum I joined is full of "adults" acting like idiots swearing in every post and as mentioned, when you sit back and read it................it's quite offensive. Saying it out-aloud and reading it are two different things for me.

Just my thoughts and I appreciate Rob standing firm in regards to this. I am sure I'm not the only person who finds swearing on internet forums offensive.

There's a pretty easy way around the filter to make it work, but I won't post it so Rob doesn't have to deal with extra temp bans, lol.

my one and only infraction is from finding a clever way around the profanity filter.

So if I said I was going to snatch up the ***** and throw him in a box and put him on the airplane , would this be censored ?
Actually the language of diplomacy is spoken much more eloquently with thought, precision and tact.
Honestly, I've looked at other sites and most are pretty crude in their layout and projection.
At least with this site there are standards and expectations.
A site such as this really helps a person to stay disciplined and focused.
Oh, Ya, yes Rob, I know I am again several weeks if not months behind.
Maybe in the future you could just post me one of those silly happy faces as a reminder.
    Tony.
