True. People love to bash the favorites. In the end though, they are all mesmerised...

I for one think the design, even in the grainy photo looks terrific, but that is just my opinion. Of the people I know who have seen the actual car in a different color, and whose opinion I respect as the man knows style, I think it will be a great looking car in the flesh. But once again this is just my opinion.

I have seen some full images of the car, not a buck and it looks very interesting with an unusual rear treatment which I am not convinced about but front looks classic aggressive Ferrari. Inevitably all Ferraris seem to look so much better in the flesh that at the launch. I was hoping for a dramatic styling change whereas it would seem to be more of a 599 evolution, albeit the performance will have moved on markedly.

True. But with Ferrari shouldn't "wow" be a nearly universal response to an unveiling rather than, "let's reserve judgment until when we see it in person?"

I'll just say those pics/sketches look promising..........does any of those come close to the 599 in terms of beauty or makes it look outdated? Nope.

Thats true but in the market place today its quite hard to "wow", I mean with all due respect Lamborghini has been good at "wow" for many years but.....

What never helps though is the pictures released in recent years have not been that good, making it hard to get an idea of what the car looks like when say shown against a natural backdrop.

I do know though from someone who saw the car yesterday that its very striking in its own way and he reckons there is a certain wow factor about it,there is no doubt thought its I think a step in the right direction after the FF.

This was a concept sketch of the 612 Scaglietti. And look how that turned out...

Anyways, I seem to be in the minority here, but I like it. A lot. I just hope the proportions are right. One flaw I had with the 599 was that it was too big - someone recently posted a great photograph comparing the size of the 550 vs the 599. The 599 was a nice looking car, but it looked somewhat awkward due to its size. I hope this replacement rectifies it.

I'll wait to comment till I've seen all sides of the car and till I've seen it move. Static pics never do a car justice. You need to see it while it drives by or when you get a chance to walk around it. One thing is for sure ... This will be a blast to drive. I just hope it is going to be a joy to look at.

One thing is for sure ... The 599 still looks spectacular seeing the 620 pics :)

every time the same story............looks bad.......not a real ferrari

I am ready to throw with rocks but not from the first picture.

If you ask me silver is not the best collor, and this picture is not very favorable for the car.

Wow! I've never seen the two cars side by side...this comparison really make the 599 look large...or maybe it makes the Maranello look small, I can't decide :)

+1. As long as I can remember, Corvette stylists have been influenced by front engined V12 Ferraris.... and with mixed results -- sometimes very attractive, sometimes gawdawful. I suppose this will continue. But I think you have to say that the one time they ventured out on their own with Bill Mitchell's Sting Ray of the 60s, they created a classic.

Yup, that's the one, thanks Terry.

The 550/575, along with the 456, have been the prettiest V12's for some time. It is my hope that the 620 GT is along similar lines as the 550/575.

I agree with all three of those points. The 355 is the last car they made that truly wowed me.

And the F355 was a mildly restyled 348 on the outside.

I will have to see this car in the flesh to make up my mind. The engine was made by someone who was clearly insane- which I like very much- but I don't like the front end so much. The car better have a good ass. A great ass can make or break...a car...

I completely Agree... The best way to appreciate a car design is to see the car passing in the street when you're walking. Many time I told myself "Damn... in fact that car looks real good !"

True, but with a whole lot of 288GTO style added to the rear, with the bulging fenders and little spoiler. And then when you see the gearbox sticking out the bottom...

I have it on good authority that the grainy photo everyone is enjoying talking about is not the 620. It is in fact a prototype that was shown to VIP guests earlier this week in Maranello. So far no photos of the real car have surfaced.

    Stay tuned.

The prototype appears to have some extreme proportions for a (mid) front engined car. Perhaps not as outrageous as Aston's One-77, but rather exotic nonetheless.

Someone on the other thread mentioned his dealer saying something about an implausible "6 inches lower" (than the outgoing).

If true, this could represent Ferrari's return to sculpting wildly outrageous rolling art for their front-engined offerings.

There are 2 parallel discusions happening on this car - can threads be merged?
