No problem with a journeyman like Blaney becoming the winner. I think his 2011 points were sold to Danica.

I believe you'll find "jet fuel" written into the exclusions of future track warranties. :D

It looked like part of truck has melted into the track, the course has to be damaged from the excessive heat so this thing has to be over.

JPM had come out of the pits and was going fast to catch up to the field under yellow when his car had a major mechanical malfunction causing him to lose control just as he came up on the jet dryers and he slid into the second one causing an immediate fireball.

In other words, open wheel guys just aren't cut out for NASCAR :D

Looked like transmission or rear diff broke locking up the rear wheels and he spun out crashing into the jet drier.

Thanks- No matter matter what the reason, he will never live this one down. And if it had been Danica, oh the jokes....

It really wasn't much of a driver error on JPM's part and more just a bizarre accident.

Looks like some surface damage and it will be interesting to see if they try and patch it as they did
a few years back when they had a hole in the track which eventually lead to the repaving.

edit: Dang, I can't post a reply faster than someone can post a YT video of something that happened 10 minutes ago

Why am I not surprised that J.P. Montie (he has to have a red neck name) was the one who hit the safety truck? I am glad they are both ok but.........

Track looks a lot better than I thought it would.

Clean-up crew just cost Blaney about $5 million
