I got a phone call from my dealer yesterday: I can pick up my new car tomorrow at 8 am! I will report back and post pictures of my new baby as soon as I have taken delivery. Markus PS: It feels like it would be my first Ferrari. It was hard to sleep last night and will be even worse in the coming night. Thats how it should be
great news and a great deal .. looking forward to seeing the pics p.s. full points to you for the manner in which you've handled yourself throughout this whole episode.
Congratulations!!! So nice that you decided to go for the 575M HGTC! I sincerely wish you and your wife lots of fun and happiness with the car. Best regards from Amsterdam, Michael
Gianni Thanks. I am currently in Steinhausen, 5 minutes to Zug and 5 minutes on the countdown Markus
I took delivery of the car this morning. Wow, what a car with the HGTC! Much better sound, much stiffer ride, completely different gearbox (software) and great breaks! I took some pictures today and hope you enjoy them. I hope to have good weather this weekend to take some more pictures and of course to drive. I took the wife for a short ride this evening and her comment was: Cool, now it sounds and drives like a Ferrari should do. After being a bit more than one month without a Ferrari life is back. Thanks to all of you for all the kind words and the support! Congratulations Markus. I've been following your thread and am very happy for you. The interior looks like mine but I have red stiching.
You finally made it! A dream come true! What a beauty! When are we going to test drive it? I have to see this in the metal ... Eric
Eric - Of course we have to go for a test drive together (including lunch)! I would like to see your 456 as well! I will send you an e-mail in a few minutes. Markus
Markus, car looks beautiful. Have enjoyed all your comments along the way. Happy endings, actually a new beginning in this case, are a good thing! Also you might note that those exhaust tips expand (stick out further) as the car gets hot (can see it in your picture). I measured mine to grow 5/8" when warm. The regular exhaust tips do the same thing. It's just more pronounced since the HGTC's stick out further in the first place. Just something funny I noticed. Maybe more evidence that the Maranello is truly an emotional car. Bill FL
Bill Thanks. This was one of the first things I also noticed on the car: Those exhaust tips really expand significantly. Markus
What a happy ending - and what a beautiful car ! Just one thing that bothers me - I'm always careful in the rain with my 575, but ever since I saw your first post in the back of my mind I'm worried about changing lanes (white lines) next time I take it out in the rain. Was there any logical explanation as to why it went into a spin ? Or was it just "one of those things" ? Sammy
So, they changed everything? dash, tunnel, seats, door cards, shelf and all rear? that must have been a a pain. Did you check to ensure your Ferrari Champ badge on left lower dash has the correct matricola number? by the way..it looks fantastic!!
Markus We could not have asked for a happier ending to your story. Your car's exterior/interior combination looks great and the interior leather has just the right balance and contrast. From one HGTC owner to another, enjoy those CC brakes, F1 and suspension. No longer a sad day - welcome to paradise! Walter
Fou They changed nearly everything: They took the seats from my old car and put it in the HGTC car. They changed the dash, door cards, shelf and rear but left the tunnel (mine was beige and now it is black which pleases me even more in this combination). The following pics show what they did: Pic 1: My old car that has been wrecked Pic 2: My new car without any changes (black/black) Pic 3: The donor car (a 2002 575M) for the interior Pic 4: My new car with the changed interior They really did a great job and I appreciate what they did to me! The deal was: I pay for the HGTC as it was (black/black) taking the money from the insurance and some (small) premium I had to bring by myself (upgrade from 575M to HGTC). They did all the rest like changing the interior, servicing the car etc. at their own expenses. I really can recommend the dealer and these guys! Sammy I talked (once more) to the tech yesterday when he handed over the new car to me. It is still a mystery to him how this could have happen. The roads were wet but it was not raining. I assume the important fact was temperature which was around zero degrees Celsius. I assume that there was ice on the white line between the lanes. He mentioned earlier that he had been in standard and not in sport mode. I drive quite a lot in wet (and sometimes snowy) conditions. When there is snow I never drive in sport mode. In wet conditions I often drive in sport mode. But when I want to accelerate fast (overtaking a slower car or entering the high way) I always switch to normal mode to ensure the ASR will not allow slippage of the wheels and fully control the car.
