I have a hard time believing that young teens are hanging posters of the FF on the wall of their rooms. I would bet there are Aventador pictures on their walls. Those boys grow up and may be more likely to buy Lambo's. I think Ferrari will see things changing in several years as younger buyers desire a more exotic look. I do not think the 458 is a classic but I do appreciate the capability of the engr. It is a rocket but to me not all that hot in the looks dept. The new Lambo is hot looking but probably not as good a car overall as the Ferrari. One good thing about a Lambo is that they are not as popular so when you own one they are not on every corner. I do enjoy my F car ownership but personally I feel the styling is not up to exotic. The leather work is wonderful and the motors work well. Paint is not as good as you would expect. Ferrari makes a wonderful car and will make it any way u want it if you have enough money. I like that part of it.

Interesting viewpoint! Its easy to make something like wild but are the cars actually better to "drive", I would far rather have a 599 and not stand out as much as the guy in the Murcielago but have a "better" more usuable car. End of the day people buy cars to drive and others buy cars to be to seen in, I prefer driving cars.

There is a million things we do that we grow out of. I used to have a bunch of piercings that I have now taken out. When I had micro machines my favorite micro machine was a black Countach. I thought Lamboghinis were way cooler than Ferraris, mainly because of the doors. Today a few of my friends have Lambo's. More so then I have friends with Ferraris. I bought a Ferrari. I would have to have some serious eff you money to even consider owning a Lamborghini, along with probably already having 4 Ferraris in my garage. I watch how people react to Lambos compared to Ferraris and I would say the general public has a lot more jealousy and hate towards a Lambo because they think the person is trying to be flashy. I like their cars, I respect them but they are pure flash. Lambo = Flash and Ferrari = Class. I am sure you are right that there are more Lambo poster's on the wall but kids mature and opinions change. Mine did and it wasn't because of any poster... However, I also agree that comparing the two is kind of beating a dead horse. Some guy's like Ford, some guys like Chevy...

Robert did you read anything I typed? The FF wasn't created for teen boys or for rich single guys. The FF was created for women & and wealthy married family men who need 4 seats. Ferrari isn't targeting the market you're referring to. The 458 and the Enzo's successor will be on posters every where.

I read an article way back in 1995 with Montezemolo. He clearly stated Ferrari was going in a different direction than Lamborghini. He said an exotic car like such as the F50 should be just that, exotic. Exotic in his book not only means wild over the top styling with crazy performance but exotic as in hard to find, rarely seen & expensive as hell to buy. There will be thousands of Aventadors 400 a year for what the next 10 years? While a handful of the Enzo's successor what about 500 unofficially?

If you think teen age boys always grow up to buy Lambos why can't they sell as many cars as Ferrari? And please don't give me that smoke about because they don't want to or can't keep up with demand. The market simply demands more Ferrari than Lamborghini.

Part of the beauty of Ferrari is the stark contrasts of the car over the years.
Just one example, think about the Boxer lines.....all curves vs the Testarossa lines.....all straight lines. These stark contrasts make art in different forms. There are many other examples, but I won't go on. My piont is change that is beautiful is wonderful, thus Ferrari.

Your reasons make sense, it's a shame because it reduces the possibility of something getting to market that is totally off the hook.

Has there been a car since the bumper laws that was as exciting as the Miura, Countach or GM AzteK?

Totally agree and you can see this in Giugiaro's Iso Grifo it was caught between the round lines of the past and the sharp edges of the future. For me this is the sublime.

I found Luca's introduction to the car in the launch video to be a bit too pretentious.

Surely this is a joke or a moment of confusion.

Lamborghini is original but Ferrari isn't? Perhaps you include Porsche, Aston, Kon-Egg and others in this grand conclusion.

All I can do is LOL......

The only truly "original" design has been the two cars built by Horacio Pagani.

If you don't see what Ferrari's been doing, from the 360 forward esp., you just don't get it.

Really? I thought it was perfectly appropriate. This car is going to set a very imposing new standard for everything else, in just about every way except HP. But I wouldn't even look at a Veyron compared to this. Those things are hideous and sound even worse, and for 3 times the price of a F12 at that. lol Kon-eggs aren't as unattractive but they still don't compare.

He should gush about it and the team that created it. But it was still brief and to the point.

Also, the site itself is superb now. I hadn't seen it in several months. It's more like a magazine or like Cartier's site than any other make's site I've seen.

    Forza,

Are we buying watches or cars? I always thought slick ads sold magazines, not the product.

Funny, I thought it was very well done: succinct, visually balanced, humanistic (with the F1 drivers involvement), and very effective. Ferrari is justifiably proud.
