on the modial 8 is there an easy way to take the door mirror apart to fix a floppy mirror?
Well, You have to take the mirror off the car, to remove the Big rubber seal. Or, you can cut off both sides. ( I have seen these seals removed from both LH and RH. But, IMO, I don't like the look.) Good luck, Edwardo Image Unavailable, Please Login

Denis, if Your just working on the mount,, no need to pull the glass and the glass transport. if Your working on the glass transport, everything snaps apart. ( Note; I do believe these are BMW mirrors. Try a junk yard....?) Good Luck, Edwardo 1981 Mondial 8
thanks again, the mirror itself is flopping on its mount due to a wet cardboard box kicked up on the highway hitting it at speed.
Good news though,,, the hinge can be pinned. or, check the BMW parts guys, you might find another base. I repaired this 1988 Testarossa mirror. I was going to use it on my Mondial 8, in standard Miami Vice fashion. ha Then, I found a set of Mondial 8 mirrors, 1 with a broken glass. All, Thus, I have an Extra LH Testarossa Mirror.
