I think the racing seats in the newest Ferrari's really look terrific in the 458 and F12.

Well these photos prove once and for all that the F12 is indeed a hatch back! No more arguments about this please . Pete
Great new pics, really is a very nice shape that has many interesting angles. Race seats should probably be the default seat though I am sure a Daytona variant will be made availible.
I posted this on another thread but think it goes better here: After a day off, I came back and looked again at the renderings and photos to recalibrate my impressions of the design. It seems to me that both front and rear views represent successful evolutions of the FF and the California before it. In particular the F12 has a much more businesslike rendition of the upturned eggcrate grill anbd its surround, and the rear is greatly dramatized and more neatly integrated than the FF. But the real innovation is between the ends where everything else in the world just got ho hum. The air bridge leading from the hood, down the cowl, along the doors, and off to the rear is simply wonderful. When I went back and looked again at other powerful front engine sports cars (e.g., the Aston Martin DBS and the Corvette), they now seem so ordinary.
The F12 makes the 599 GTO look dated. Beautiful. Bravo! This would be me my garage if I could get one!
Headlights are similar but definitely not the same, I checked photos that I have of the FF and the LED arrangement is different.
I really have to disagree. The stubby rear ruins the car for ME. I really want to see it though before I cast my last sentence in stone,lol.. I will say that I think the GTO looks more aggressive to me but maybe thats the 599 talking in me.? IF I owned a GTO I would not sell it to buy the F12. That said if any GTO owners want to sell their dated slow cars I will be more than happy to give you 250K.
-F12!! With the release of the F12 the GTO hasn't lost any of it's drama and appeal to me. The F12 looks great but the GTO doesn't look outdated at all.
Interesting the current need to compare the incomparable. The F12, looks aside which is subjective anyway, is a mass produced GT car with all the modern technology to make it usable by all on an everyday basis. It has power, a DSG box that makes driving in auto mode a delight (cf: FF and 458) and a hatchback for lots of luggage. It will cost about 5% more than a 599 GTB. The basic evolution of the species. The GTO is a limited edition of an extreme car. It has a real flavour of the XX in its DNA. To those who have had the privilege of driving an F40, it is the modern expression of that car. It is mean and grizzly - or as the Italians say, grintosa. Compare the F12 to a 599 GTB and the F12 will no doubt be a better car. If it isn't, then Ferrari isn't Ferrari. It is not how fast a car is, but rather the emotion that it delivers that gives you goose bumps - every time. So please, let's compare the comparable!
And you can explain the technical function of that arse end treatment? Fabulous mechanicals, ridiculous clothing.
It's always enjoyable to read when te writer knows how to write. I think M just wanted to say that the new F12 design doesn't make the GTO design obslolete at all. Anyway, in a few years we'll have a F12 GTO with 790Hp and it everybody will be happy.
I am not an aerodynamicist but I know that air is blown through the wheel arches to the diffuser. So I reckon there is a corelation between form and function. You may not like the detailing though and that's your right.
can't wait for Geneva live pics!!!...... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
