really got screwed by ferrari this time with their mighty awesome f12.

After owning a 458 for a year and some super enjoyable miles later, i got a spider coming before June and now they spank out a 740hp F12??!!!
And looking at them pictures, it impressed me more than the 458 did when it first came out. With the V12, DCT, plus the 740hp made me want one so bad.
Now especially after the f12 coming out, i look at the 458 and spider as being dull and uninteresting, of course im used to it and know exactly what to expect. whats worse is i can get the f12 before december!

Now im dreaming what 740hp feels like. My last most powerful feeling car was the 620hp 599, imagine something better with 120hp more and improved electronics and handling! BAM!! my spider just got squashed and think im gonna drive it for a few months and jump ship to the almighty V12 amd hopefully not lose too much.

as uninterested as i may be, im sure some will still wanna see my pics of the spider, so here it is :

the color is a $30k new red option that looks nice and musterd-y in bright sun light.

While I am sure that a number of us would happily pay for the spec that you ordered, just to get a spider in June.........

I like the look of the F12. It speaks to me in a way that the 458 does not. That does not make it better for me, just different. To me, the 458 is a culmination of style, grace, athleticism, balls-out V8 performance and agility. I would not trade that for the next great thing.

I like them both. The F12 is a muscle car -- big, beefy front engine/rear drive car with a long nose and tough aggressive lines.

The 458 is a sleek, slippery, curvy, short nosed mid engine sports car.

Both have their purpose. To me, I've always been an open top sports car kind of guy but for those who like muscles, the F12 will do nicely.

    They are apples and oranges.

my concern is it better drive a lot better than the FF. I see a lot of similarities although I admit no specific evidence. Obviously there is 2 wheel drive vs. 4 wheel drive but I still don't buy into that for many reasons. I agree the 599 is a brilliant car and I seriously doubt Ferrari would make any step backwards. However I feel the FF was a big disappointment (IMHO) driving-wise. Maybe some folks were amazed but for someone with a competition racing license I can say it was good but not great. So anxiously waiting the reviews and an actual driving experience of the F12 before blindly plunking down crazy money. car does look and probably sounds awesome.

As much i love the new F12, i would not trade my 458 for it.
I actually appreciate everything about my 458 more after seeing the F12. I don't care too much about the extra horses, the 458 is such a complete, beautiful and perfect car me.

I won't mind the new pagani huayra tho :)

I agree, bdelp. I prefer the open top. I appreciate what an Italian muscle car can do, but I would rather have a drop top to show off the 4 hairs on my head!

To me, the Ferrari 458 Italia was a love at first sight. I have never experienced such a thing with any other car before, not even the F12. Even though it's all about preference and opinions, I consider the 458 and the F40 to still be the greatest Ferrari's that have rolled out of the factory in Maranello.

I agree with you... I want the 458 Spider that much more after seeing the F12. And I'll take the Aventador over the Huayra...

"So anxiously waiting the reviews and an actual driving experience of the F12 before blindly plunking down crazy money."

    ??????????????
u didnt know thats how ferrari purchasing works??

people put down money for the 599 before they know its a 599, a scuderia before its a scud, the 458, a 458 spider before theres a picture, f12 before they touched it, etc... almost all local owners and i did all of those accounts. Yes, i wasnt too thrilled when i first took my 599 up my favorite mountain and it didnt do well, so if u dont like it, sell it when everybody are still complaining about their year long waiting lists.

Core fcar customers pay much in advance to know how it drives or looks even. These are the very same people that finance all the latest tech for future and current ferraris and sportscar development in general. Without the self-financed retarded guinee pigs like me, ferrari would never have the money to do what they are doing. People who have a year or 2 long 458 waiting lists are just icing on ferrari's cake, bonus if u will, not their core customers. People who buy every single model every year IS their real customer, and there is too much of them now, just ask China.

Being a ferrari lover and supporter, when u buy ferraris from a magazine or a 3rd person review, it is way too late already. Since the 430, every model of mine has been deposit placed months to 1+years in advance. Drinker of the same ferrari kool-aid know how great a ferrari model is years beforehand, and i really DO NOT think ferrari or any other car company can come up with stuff thats worse than last year's model, it is just not possible and not feasible. I have never been disappointed with any one of my ferraris and love every one of them. Of course i can say much the same with all my lexus-s, but with no love.
only thing i can complain about is the price of depreciation, but if u can make money then thats fine. i dont make much so i gotta cut down on this obssession.

i dont think lambo makes any bad cars, nor does porsche, i just drink the ferrari stuff more.
i see people comparing ferraris all the time which its too funny. How can u compare anything when people are already putting money down that has not exist yet? i think the first year allocation of f12 orders are already spoken for at my dealer just 2 days after they showed pictures. Not even the ferrari president of the entire asia region has driven the f12, and its pretty much sold out for its 1st year. That is crazy, but true.

Now back to the cars, since u already know im retarded and buy ferraris, biased is something that need to be kept in mind.
The FF and 458 to me has samiliar steering and throttle feel which is truely awesome considering them being so different. But to me the FF handles surprisingly well especially compared to my 612 which its supposed to replace, and its just invincible in the rain when i drove it compared to my 458. Im sure the f12 would be much better, i will think that even more if i already paid.

i know for a dumb fact that the FF is for rich people even with no licenses or brains and can get lawyered out of speeding tickets, so dont know what u are refering to with the racing license.

I'll just have to settle for keeping my slow, outdated 458 - can't swing the coin for a F12B. LOL

Not everyone agrees with that, John. Not everyone is interested only in the latest and greatest and then flip it again when the next thing comes along.

I am very glad I'm just getting my 458 in a couple of weeks. Didn't have the money two years ago and I'm ecstatic about the 458. No interest in what might be coming. As I don't plan on selling it quickly I am happy that I've got the 2012 version instead of the early production models.

It looks to me like another front engine car, period. If you like front engined cars, it works. Personally, I wonder how many would abandon a mid engine car for another front engine GT? Could be wrong. For me the McLaren MC12 and Ferrari 458 was a toss up until I actually "saw" the McLaren. A great car, but no pit in the stomach feel like that when I open my garage and see a Ferrari.

At the end of the day, we are all dream chasers. However, if you have the means, it is not getting what you want, but wanting what you get = Best

I agree on this. I ordered my 458 Spider before knowing the design, if it was a hardtop and the price. But then, it is now grinning in my garage...

I don't know any brand that is so powerful.
