I'll be in the West Palm Beach area for a week in June. Are there any car events scheduled for June that anyone is aware of? I can schedule my vacation around the event.

Why W Palm ? you like horses, rednecks, unbearable heat ? :)

Palm Beach Raceway always has stuff going on.

I think you'll be much happier in Palm Beach rather than WPB though

West Palm is famous for its intersections. The lights are timed so that you get to stop and marvel at the wonder that is asphalt and striping about every 1/8 - 1/4 mile. Not much going on in June that I know of, but maybe we can do a group drive or something.

I'm not saying that traffic control sucks in WPB only. This whole county has terrible traffic management for the size of the population. It was ranked as the worst in the country for a population of similar size. Actually one of the few areas that flows well is downtown WPB. Northlake Boulevard, Military Trail, PGA Blvd. tha tI normally use are all pretty awful.

I read somewhere that a computerized system that would coordinate the timing to allow people to travel the primary roads wold cost around $6MM for the entire county, but the fearless leaders we have refuse to do somethingt hat would benefit everyone. Much more important to have fancy fake doo dads on bridges and overpasses!

Olive and Dixie are great! That kind of timing is what I was referring to that could be installed county-wide, but our fearless leaders won't do it.
    I don't use Belvedere, so I can't comment there.

And dont forget the boat bridges that open every half hour making it even worse. If I get out of work 5 minutes late, I have to wait another 10 minutes waiting for it to open and close.

And the Lantana Bridge is closing today and will be replaced. It wont be done until Nov 2013. Sure would suck to live in the first house across the street from the bridge and have to take a 10 mile detour just to get to the restaurant or stores on the other side for the next 18 months..

Thaicoon is great, I go there about once a week. The soy sauce noodle dish with chicken is great.

If the weather is nice you should go to Worth Avenue and walk around. Great cars everwhere around there, and the fanciest people I have ever seen.

A half day fishing trip on the Miss Blue Heron is pretty good, and only about $40 last time I checked. You can also take the water taxi from the 13th street marina to Peanut Island. The snorkeling there is pretty great on the side of the island facing the inlet.

    :)
