I have just purchased a 275GTB/4 and before I completely reck this car (it is my first Ferrari) I would appreciate if anyone knows where I can find an instruction manual. I found an original 2nd print on ************ website run by a Mr Jack Habits. Is this good source to buy from? Appreciating your help and looking forward to share my experience with you. Best Edmond
Edmond You have my private mail, pls contact me BEFORE you go any further. Thanks. Check also your emails. Marcel Massini
Edmond, Congratulations on your purchase! You'll receive a PDF of the manual from Jim (Napolis) in order to prevent you from killing the car, but may I repectfully ask to share some photo's too before you do same? Enjoy her in good health, shiny side up! Jack.
Jack, Thank you. Ofcourse I will share some pictures. I am first getting her late next week as she is undergoing minor service to pass the swiss inspection laws for Classic cars. I am also having her restored shortly so I can send you pictures of that process as well. Will send you the first pictures next week. Best Edmond
Edmond, Much looking forward to learn what you have bought, and certainly to a proper restoration-thread: we eat those threads for breakfast on this forum. I bet you're counting days
Yes I will post the developments on here. I read two other threads of two fantastic 275/GTB 4 restorations (one was silver and the other maroon red). Both were great threads to follow. Will keep you posted. Edmond
Do NOT send any money to Jack Habits.....there have been some issues with his business. See thread in Collectibles Section "Jack Habits where are you?" He never answered! LOL! I think he's still alive but some people here have been hurt in dealings....not me, I got what I ordered from him, in years gone by..... Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the discussion here!
Just let the oil warm up before using the car, you'll be fine! I can send you some Royal Purple, they sponsor my team. Back to your original question there is: 275GTB Owners Manual 275GTB Shop Manual Both are good to have...
@BigTex. Jack Habits is my friend since the last 3 years and since we have spoken about these stories on Fchat , he told me that he had problems with the post, some things where lost of which most turned up eventially, while this happened he got very ill and had a bad communication with the outside world, and some writing of nervous clients created this hype then, jack was something like 12 months out of running, but since has picked up his webshop again and has been selling a lot of F.RR.A.R.ST.FF all around the world with only happy clients. Like you say, I was not hurt, I got what I ordered, so please take in mind that some people got nervous and reacted wrong, and posted on fchat and never bothered to say anything when all problems where solved. To explain, A few years ago I bought from a person through the telephone his Dino 246 wheels which he had advertised, wired him the money the next day, and then he never replied on my mails again, 2 weeks later I contacted the police in the south of Germany, and they told me that it must have been a fraud and that I had lost my money, 2 days later I got a mail from the seller telling me that his computer had been out of use because he had moved to the north of Germany, and that the wheels where left at his neighbours at his old place and when I wanted to pick them up. just a misunderstanding with a good end. Jack Habits is %100 genuine and if somebody proofs me wrong I will compensate them.
Thank you very much for your post. I suspected something was amiss and am VERY glad to hear he is better! As you see in my post I was very happy with my business with him. Glad to hear things have gotten sorted out! I you vouch for him, that counts with me! Not that I count for anything....LOL!
To me we have no discussion, it is just my opinion about a friend. And if you have point that needs to be solved, Jack will do that , I had him a couple of times on the phone today, and he told me, to contact him if somebody has an issue with him that needs to be taken care of.
Technically there is no specific 275 GTB/4 owners manual or repair manual. You would get a normal 275GTB/GTS owners manual with the car and additional GTB/4 supplement. The same goes for the repair manual, as there is a 275 GTB repair manual and only an additional GTB/4 engine assembly manual. The parts manual for the GTB/4 shows only the additional different parts that the GTB/4 uses and is part of the 330GT and the 330GTC parts book. For example the only place that you will find the valve clearances (.010" intake and .020" exhaust) is in the additional GTB/4 engine assembly manual or the build sheets for the car, so we have seen them incorrectly set to standard 275 GTB clearances.
Thank you for that clarification. I didn't realise that 275 manual is that complex. I hope the car is easier to drive than finding out what exactly came with the car at the time. But that is what makes vintage cars so interesting, on the other hand.
Well, here I am (again). Thanks to Toto, I finally found the courage to put pen to paper. For those of you who are interested to read my side of the story about what happened, please read the attached document. Jack Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dear Jack, Your post is much appreciated and I find it noble that you are open about what you went through. Most people would not have taken this step. Welcome back to Ferrari Chat!
Thanks JackH. The original thread called for info on 275 GTB 4 tech manuals. Does anyone have the engine assembly manual supplement available? Or know where I can purchase?
