Can I trade mine for a nero?
Is there a mechanic who can weigh in here. I ordered one but also have an issue as to why ferrari designed it in if it serves no purpose. While the way they design is never intended for simplicity, all the stuff appears to be there for a reason.
I'm with you Eli. I'm going to order one too but always wonder if there are any long term affects when modifying Ferrari engineering. Same reason I won't wire my bypass valve open. Although....we all know sometimes Ferrari engineering isnt all it's cracked up to be at times!
So after the first post-install drive, I can say that it definitely adds something to the sound. I notice a throatier idle and a slightly fuller exhaust note going up through the gears. I'm very happy with the purchase.
Good to hear you like the product. For the others questioning it, its a sound muffling device plain and simple. Take yourself back in the day when you flipped the air filter cover on that carbed car you had, it sounded cool no? It didn't do any harm it just changed the sound due to allowing in a bit more air. In Porsche land for the last of the Air/Oil cooled cars they called it an Engine sound package and it was an option that cost you some bucks. I had one and it sounded really cool when you stomped on the gas pedal.
Agreed. Considering it was all of forty bucks, it's certainly worth it. I had to make sure I wasn't having a placebo effect, but after a while I was certain that I really was hearing a different timbre in the exhaust sound. I didn't notice much, if any, change in the throttle response (it's always been fine).
