great pictures! All NEW NEW NEW, only on pic 4643 i see the rightside doorpanel, i would go back with that one should be better! That engine looks increidible, was the engine completed overhauled with new pistons and so on? seen the nice pictures from the instruments, the light looks to be blue on the metres is this LED? I have seen Sackey's pictures earlier in the threat there the light looks natural (?). Great car! 100% NEW! Also NICE red firebird on the background!!
Ys, still have the OEM for the car..but replaced with soft white/blue LED units..so now at night you can see the Guages!
Correct me if I am wrong, incorrect placement of top screw on door panel and missing one in the center.
Dont know, this is the second Countach I have had it donw to..and I know that another local Countach owner, Mike has done it as well on his Red Countach with great results.
Peter: Ferruccio Lamborghini was once asked by a British journalist about the poor lighting in/on his Lamborghinis. He responded with words to the effect: "What man would prefer to be out in his car at night, rather than indoors with his lady?" Next topic.
Excellent pics, thanks for sharing! Flickr is such a great hosting site and we have used them for years because the quality of the images is not compromised when you share them. Did Bruno Paratelli do the leather on this LP400?
Roy, for your eyes only. Hope this helps. The washers on these screws are unique too, an unual bowled shape. Image Unavailable, Please Login
To be quite frank...I have no idea what outside sources Steve used to have the work complete. I just sat back and waited 5 years..I can always check.. I do know that the interior alone was shipped out and was gone for over 8 moths, but to whom I do not know..
While on the topic of instrument lighting, don't bother with the white "40% brighter" bulbs by G.E. as I could barely tell the difference (in my application, though not a Countach) & they are a bit pricey. LED would be the way to go...
Yes, I compared to my S2 on the floor an it is slightly different..maybe due to the cars are 4 years apart and was done different by the time the S cars were made..? I am not an expert and have no idea what is correct "as is" or the pic you have posted..? I do know it drives like a bat out of hell..AND as you guy's can see..due to pressure I installed modern seat belts and YES I use them LOL I also have a full set of the "Brixx" correct belts, have no intention of installing them, but will go with the car for the next owner should they wish to install them back to what it was in the day. After reviewing them, they were just not "practical" in a "Driver's" car for me. PLUS I did not like their grey color, which is what it was for the time period.
Erik, me and Mike did find the perfect lighting and there was a discussion about it but here is a small recap. ... Ferruccio had a great point, but a guy needs a rest some nights.... right? (my gauges are BRIGHT now and can be read easily and keep me company on those less fortunate evenings) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Roy's is correct. After all Steve did a lot of research. Furthermore, there is no hole in the door metal for a center screw, and here on the attached pic, we can see the same pattern as on Roy's car. Having said all that, maybe they weren't all made the same at the factory back then? I think Roy's is great and Steve did an awesome job. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Joe, Thanks for the article. The descriptions describing how that car was running would make one, second guess the Lambo, at that time. Was that typical of this era model or was this car in desperate need of tuning? Parts of the article are accurate, some comments, I would think, would turn people away from a Lambo. in a hurry. Reading the part about how poorly they start, and die if you stab the accelerator to fast, ect....is really dissing the car. I have encountered a handful of c/t's over the years, and have never witnessed, not one, that ran that way.
