Hello guys you all have seen dozens of photos already, nevertheless I would like to share some of my photos taken at the geneva carshow last week The presentation of the new F12 Berlinetta was one of the highlights from the 2012 Geneva Carshow .... the attention to those cars and the Ferrari stand was accordingly as you can see in one of the photos (taken during the pressconference on March 6th). As the title already indicated, I was lucky to capture both cars alone with no disturbing people infront or behind the cars It was a strange feeling to walk on the stand, totally alone with the cars and the big screen in the background. There were some official Ferrari people in the backstage area and just a security guy present, thanks to him I was allowed to sneak in! Now, enjoy the photos. You find the set together with 12 photos from the official press conference hereafter. F12Berlinetta in Geneva by stmoritzer Image Unavailable, Please Login
yes it is the new colour. It is a matt metallic silver - I usually don't like matt colours, but this looked good in the flesh.
I wonder how you maintain that. It seems like it would pick up every fingerprint in the world. And, do you polish it? One thing I really hate is washing a car with a rough finish. If feels like you're scratching your fingernails over a chalkboard! It looks beautiful in the photographs though.
In the leaked pic of the model I thought it looked terrible. This looks really nice. Matte Red is the way to go IMO.
Great photos, thanks for sharing. I love how the line of the rear fender connects with the lower line of the side scoop. It kind of reminds me of the testarossa side wave line. Dare I say, this car is the best looking front engine car since, well, the 275? I know I'll get killed for saying this but I think it's better looking than the Daytona. Also, 0-124 mph in 8.5 seconds? Wow, that's fast, really fast. -F
What do you guys think about the wheelset? I think those wheels look dated and clunky and do nothing for the car. I think I'd rather see Challenge wheels than those. The jury is still out on this car for me.. just like the 458. One minute, I'm seriously thinking of heading out to my Ferrari dealer down the street, the next, I'm just not digging it. It just wasn't that way with the 360 and 430. They had me at hello and it's never changed.
Those matt colors will go out of style in a few years, although they are interesting. FIAT also used them on the Alfa 4C Geneva debute in 2010. This car looks very good. The only weak point is the oversized toothy front grill. From the rear and side I think it looks wonderful. I wonder what a racing version would look like. So they showed a video, with a fake Ferrari in it, at the official Ferrari stand. Why? In case anyone is wondering that is the fake F355 from "The Rock".
I think matte silver's just a fancy name for grey, but it does seem to flatter the car. And yes, thanks for sharing!
I quite like the simple design of the standard wheels, wheels which are too fussy in design inevitably draw ones eye away from the lines of the car.
I agree that it looks like it will pick up fingerprints easily (as it was on the stand), although when I ran my hand over it the finish was smooth. Not really what I would go for, but it was interesting. Sitting in the car it was like sitting in the 458, in terms of the control and button layout. the racing seats felt identical too. Very few people seem to be talking about the "air bridge" on the bonnet. That is something that I have never seen before.
I know the scene, I know the car is a fake. I simply felt it was a clever photo taken by the OP to have the F355 bursting through the glass, as if it was visually crashing the party.
That is my opinion as well. I sway back and forth on the looks of this new one. That picture with the car chase scene in the background is pretty darn cool, though.
One of the videos in the background was "Ferrari in the movies", a compilation of famous scenes ..... from The Rock to James Bond chase (Brosnan and the girl in the F355) to "Cars" ... then Demi Moore at the beach leaving in the Enzo, and many more During the show they also showed videos from the FF in snow, AbuDhabi F-world, California ...
Thanks ;-) The video gave a good background to take photos, I have a couple more with actors looking at the F12 and movie, scenes ...
