Welcome to FChat and the V12 lovers' forum. Your car was not on my 575M HGTC list, so great to add another one. Where are you located? Just a country or state is fine.

Would love to see some photos. Brings up an interesting point. I assume she has a carbon fiber instrument panel? Those were standard on the HGTCs and Superamericas and included with the HGTC kits Ferrari sold for retrofit.

    Terry,
Thanks for your reply. I am in UK. The car is, however, in lhd spec as I do most of my Ferrari driving in Continental Europe.
It doesn't have a carbon dash; I wasn't aware that came with the HGTC pack. Looking at the Scaglietti options book, it certainly is not listed as part of the HGTC spec. But then the carbon dash isn't listed at all, so who knows!
It is pretty standard spec - Daytona seats, leather shelf, shields, satnav. It's obviously from late in the production run from the numbers, and has only done 11k miles. It has had one previous owner who was a one time F1 and Indycar racer.
I'll try and take some photos next time it comes out of the garage!

I will show you why I asked, courtesy of Markus. I did not think the HGTCs originally came with a CF instrument panel, but this document indicated they did. If you bought one of the retrofit kits from Ferrari, they did come with a CF instrument panel. The 2 Mb chip in the instrument panel contains lots of info, and on the HGTC it contains the algoritms for CCM brake wear. On later cars, like the F430 and Superamerica, the chip increased to 8Mb and contained much more maintinence history. On the F430, at least, an SD3 could be used to select whether the car had steel or CCM brakes.

    Terry,
I was confused by all this, but I think I've worked it out!
I have the same document - it's the supplementary instruction booklet for the Handling GTC Pack.
In the English language version it simply references the 'version with carbon panel'. But I don't think this means a carbon fibre panel. If you look at the French version of the booklet it talks about the 'version dotee de panneau au carbonne' - in other words the instrument panel configured for carbon ceramic discs.
If I'm right I do have the 'carbon panel' but it's not carbon fibre!
    Does this make sense?

Terry, 575MF1HGTC – I also think that the interpretation of 575MF1HGTC makes more sense. My new (to me) 575 HGTC had the HGTC package originally fitted from Ferrari in Maranello (no retrofit) and is without the carbon fibre applications. I think this was an additional option.

In the booklet there is also an Italian version which I guess is the original which they have translated into all other languages. If I find time this evening I will check the booklet and ask my wife for a translation from the Italian version.

Markus, HGTC- Makes perfect sense. I knew the kits had a the CF instrument panel, but did not believe the OEM cars had one. Was there a cover for the HGTC document you received? That was the first I had heard about it. Will have to send a copy to Ben Deetman.

The 575 GTC is really beautiful and mean looking. Here are the factory photos that came out with the press kit. You can see some changes were made as they tested the cars.

Terry – I went to the car to take the booklet. And while I was there … I had to take here for a short drive :)

    Here I am back again.

The document says in the Italian version “versione con panello in carbonio” which is exactly the same as in the English version “version with carbon panel” meaning that there is a version with carbon panel and thus also one without.

Below is a pic how the booklet looks like.

I also scanned the whole document to a PDF file. It’s 3.7 MB which is larger than the maximum size that can be uploaded on FChat. I will send the document by e-mail directly to Terry. Feel free to send a copy to Ben Deetman. I assume we will find it then soon on ferraridatabase.com. If anybody wants the PDF send me a PM with your e-mail address.

    Markus

PS: Great pics of the 575 GTC!

Markus- Many thanks and I will try and order a copy for myself, too. The part number is 69086400 for publication 2139/04 from Nov 04. Sent it to Ben, so should be up in a while on ferraridatabase.com.

Negative, but there was a Scaglietti option book and a tech bulletin, both of which are in this thread. FHP was availale from day 1 of 575M production, as were the 19" wheels, so did not require supplemental data. FHP alignment specs and ride height are covered in the workshop manual.

As soon as I get time, I will convert Markus' HGTC brochure to jpegs and post it in this thread.

Just located my assembly number. It's 51750. Looks like I just missed some of the updates found on later cars...

My 2004 575M F1 with Vin No. 135478 and Build no. 52821. Has FHP Shock ECU upgrade, Shock update, steering position sensor, 19" modulars with 25mm spacers on rear and 15mm on front. Creme interior Daytona inserts. No shields. Some other upgrades that I can't remember.

Great car and my favourite Ferrari. But we can all do with some more in the stable. Just changed the carpets to black and next is leather rear shelf, Tubi and roll bar installation.

Will do. I'm out of town right now and my car's getting a complete "physical" at the shop. As soon as I see it it again, I'll record and send.
