    This winter for me:

    removing the interior and sending it off for a redye
    a carpet clean
    clean the engine as I do every year
    fixing slow windows
    shift shaft seals
    new rear pads and rotors

    The above engine pics are of my car - we've done soup-to-nuts, and she's running terrific. One last trip for a tweak and a tune with Ferrari Service of Bedford, and I'm all-done. My winter work is to FINISH the A/C system installation that I purchased from RetroAir - I have the fan-box to remove, install the new fan unit, re-install the box, and finish-up the line connections.

    There's the issue of my drivers' door not staying 'closed' while driving - it likes to pop open on the road, dunno why. VERY annoying. Might install a stereo head unit and speakers. Touch-up a stone chip, seal the inside of the doors with some POR-15. Maybe leatherique the seats. Not much...car is near-perfect.

    This damned Nor'Easter has my car snowed-in for the foreseeable future....dunno when I can finish-up those break-in miles. LOTS of road-salt got laid down last evening.....

    Pretty straightforward to work on, with many hidden fasteners and hoses to deal with. This appears to be the first time the the valve covers have been off. A few minor surprises were found that likely explain the light surge at steady engine speed and poor drivability (only) for the first 30 seconds of driving cold. With hydraulic valves, this would be a perfect candidate for the "lock and swap" services that seems to be popular with the Dealers. But, in that I want 100% performance out of this engine, at the minimum, I'm going to check where we are with regards to cam timing. Besides, the cam seals are just starting to weep...and this is the only way to get to them. The 'under the plenum' coolant hoses that like to burst at the most inopportune time will be replaced with the uber-quality components from Scuderia Rampante.
