I'm not even sure they'd be happy if I disclosed how amazing a deal I got. Part of it was a one year powertrain so its in the service bay tonight. Might bring her home tomorrow. Not what I'd planned on buying.
My mmoney is on the blu pozzi california. Beautiful car, one owner, high miles, i'm sure you stole it. Enjoy in good health.

Huh? You hear something about it already? I will say this; for the trade in I got, I think I paid about $500 a month to drive the 430 including sales and car tax.
Since this is dragging out into tomorrow or possibly even Saturday, I got an amazing deal on a 2008 599 GTB Fiorano Red/Tan with every possible HGTE upgrade, post factory, so everything but but the HGTE shifting. I got such a great deal coming and going that I really am not sure I should even post it. But I'm supremely confident at what I paid, I could dump it without a loss if I need to for any reason. I've been drooling over this car for half a year. The Cali, the Blue Cali with 39k miles was great, awesome car. Test drove it. Quick. Handled better than I expected. But we did the math a few different ways, and if I did the Cali and dumped it for the 599 late this year or next, I would have spent about the same as the difference in payments on tax, and it would be a harder car to unload in a pinch. Pinch is possible this year, looking less likely by the day, but possible. http://www.ferrariofwashington.com/used-Washington+DC-2008-Ferrari-599+GTB+Fiorano-Base-ZFFFC60A680160779
Bob congrats...nice car...I put a deposit on a 430 Spider today...the world is balanced once again, you got rid of one and I am gaining one...even-steven, like on the seinfield episode...
Let us know how the move is from 430 to 599, congrats! Oh and Scott which 430 did u pick up? See you at a future meet.
Nothing to be remorseful about. Owning a Ferrari, any Ferrari, is a life long dream for us car nuts. And once you take a bite of the Ferrari apple, there are so many tempting models that you want to own some day. A 599 is a classy car. A top choice. Truly something special to be in or, better yet, drive. Enjoy every moment of owning it. .
Ron, I've come to the conclusion that my behavior has become addictive. I'm putting a stop to it. When I get to where my company is sold and I'm set, I'll think about it again. As it is, I'm ready to hand in the keys for the balance of payments and cancel all Ferrari-related activity. Might seem rash, but that's what happens in a moment of clarity sometimes.
Congrats Bob - amazing car! Cant wait to see it in person. Look at it this way - if you got a great deal and can dump it anytime, this is better then cash, as it tends to disappear anyway on much less fun stuff with no way to recover it. I always had a buyers remorse, but thanks to my supportive wife and more driving of said toy, it ends quickly...
Guys, I'm backing out, NOT doing it. I had a crisis of conscience last night, didn't sleep hardly a wink. I'm not spending $200k on a friggin' car. I'm unwell. I need to sell the 430. This ferrari stuff is an addiction.
Bob! Bummer. I've been in your shoes before but I'd be lying if I said I didn't regret every single time I've sold a car without another 'toy' lined up. (Especially with the nice weather here) You last a couple weeks no problem and then it's back to the same old trolling car websites for the next one. You're friends will be out tearing around the back roads, you'll stare longingly at the empty garage spot, and the only sound in your head will be a flat plane crank. You ultimately have to make the decision, but I reckon you'll be back... it's just a matter of time.
If they are willing to give you such a great deal "coming & going" why not keep the 599 for 6 months and see how you feel at that point? Seems like you'd be able to sell it if you still want to and likely break even...
It takes a strong man to cut back once in awhile. "Dr. Doom" claims that the economy will stay in this slump until the end of the DECADE. Bob is making a wise move for many reasons in my opinion.
I never "stop" trolling car sites, am never satisfied. I've been this way before with other hobbies. It's not the first time I've needed to address a compulsion. Oh HELL no At least I'd be very surprised. I won't talk to them yet. They're just going to try like hell to get me back on the hook.
