Ferrari told Perez to have a big off leading to the long straight? Those bastards!

Not that, but had he pitted at the right time and not backed off he would have been ahead.

They would have needed to pass him though...

Quite a little bit of luck for Alonso, still a good win.

I think if no one told Perez anything he would have won the race, that enginer in the radio just took his focus off.

    +1 ;)

    Cue the conspiracy theorists......

Not to mention the howls for Perez to replace Phil - The lad had a, one, single, great race -doesn't make him the next coming. However, even I've gotta admit he did suck today....

    Cheers,
    Ian

On DRS on that long straight FA gets passed no question. He( Perez), had more than enough laps and closure at 1 point. Ferrari were lucky or someone put out the radio call to prevent it LOL!!!

Maybe...I don't know, but Ferrari wins twice here: Alonso's on the top step of the podium and Perez has secured Massa's seat. That's one he'll of a win/win.

Sauber, unfortunately, is the loser in all of this.

There have been rumours for a Perez switch to Ferrari for quite a while now, no? His performance today surely won't stop them...

Do they have a new record of the Italian anthem? It sounds quite different to the one I remember from the good old days (*sigh*)

The McLaren is fast in a straight line. They were struggling with grip in the corners.

Absolutely spectacular race. Was definitely worth staying up for tonight! What a drive by Alonso in the F2012! Perez was so close, I'm pretty sure he would've had him if he hadn't 'gone off'. Congrats to both of them, definitely an unexpected result on both counts! I guess the F2012 gets a win this season afterall

My reference was about Perez. He does pass FA most likely and had 6 laps left or 5 with his minor 'off'. My opinion of course. Perez had the speed and DRS with the long straight certainly would have presented multiple opportunities with the amount of time/laps left.

One can only imagine. If they replace him it needs to be soon or at the break for the team to adjust.

Absolutely!!! I'm loving that Italian national anthem as the winner!

I must take a victory drive in our crappy weather now.

    Just a great race today!
