Another thing i don't understand is why Kubica's name keeps popping up. He's just done, IMHO.

Brundle said it wont happen. Ferrari does not want to interrupt the season and team to integrate a new driver. He drives the season and is let go unless he improves dramatically.

IF a replacement is named, it will almost surely have to be an Italian driver. Italy is furious that there are no Italians in F1 at the moment. This is why the drums are beating for Jarno Trulli.

Massa qualified fine today just .200 behind Alonso. That was just what the car was capable of so for Massa's sake I hope he keeps it up.

I love the guy but with his all or nothing style a ride in the car as it is today might produce a few write offs.

+1 Splitting hairs, but it was actually slightly less than that. Given how hard Fred's pushing, I'd go as far as to say a sterling effort by the little guy.

+1 He didn't get the Kobycrashy moniker for nothing. And if there's one thing the team hates it's their guys destroying their cars.......

On top of which, given the POS that it it is currently, who's more likely to be able to figure it out and make progress with it? Koby looks pretty quick I agree, but I'd bet he'd be completely lost in the thing. Sergio? Even more of the same.

    "Give Phil a chance!" :)

    Cheers,
    Ian

How many more chances does he need?

I think FM is a lovely guy but for sure he lost his mojo after being hit in the head by the spring, he may say he doesn't remember it, but i bet he has seen the footage and is spooked a little by it. He is a human and cannot help but be affected by it. Ive crashed and been injured enough by motorcycles both motocross and road racing to tell you that i might not remember the accident itself, but the last thing you remember is "being on the brakes into turn ##, then waking up in hospital". It takes the edge off and for sure he hasn't been the same since, and he knows it, he and Ferrari need to find a graceful exit for a driver who has been admitted servant for all these years.

    My only question is:

When Perez gets Massa's seat, will Sauber be forced to take Massa back or is he free to put a deserving driver in that seat?

Well said. Some here lack eloquence or enough sense to put it in perspective. The venom thrown here at FM is sad and frankly below the quality of this board on most occasions.

He will leave and has a record most will never achieve in a team very very few ever drive for. If you saw the break(rain delay today), where MS and FM were sitting it was amazing. MS is one of his closest friends. Nice in this life to have such friends and access. Given that its laughable what is put out here towards FM. With friends like MS Massa wont be missing the comments here at all lol! :)

    +1

Plus, it infests almost every damn thread - The "sucks" thread (which I think is out of order in itself) is one thing, but there are a few who insist on polluting every thread with their hate.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Call me Pangloss but I don't take their comments seriously enough to be offended.
It's sports talk. If you can't hyperbolate here where can you?
If venting here spares a single dog or wife from a beating it's worth it.

    Fair comments.

I just wish they'd keep it to a single thread...... [Can you ignore entire threads I wonder? ;)]

You can but it's more effort than its worth.
My biggest issue with Phil is his too big watch.

Anyone asked Prost about his thoughts on Ferrari changing driver mid-season? Thought you old guys would be quoting that one over and over.

    With all due respect, that's complete and utter nonsense for so many reasons;

    - We Phil fans are, understandably right now (! ;)), keeping a pretty low profile - Everyone knows he's had a terrible start.
    - Some of 'em *are* pollution - Vitriol, hatred and just out and out nastiness that wouldn't be tolerated on even sports talk radio.
    - I'd be willing to bet there are at least ten times the # of *hate* posts than responses. OK, maybe that reflects the general feelings about him right now but every single thread, even ones not related to Ferrari or it's drivers seems to turn into a bash fest.
    - We fans of his (and there's not many left!) only tend to respond when the blind hatred gets the better of the facts - The "he's never within seconds of Fred", "he's always sucked" type nonsense that simply isn't true.

Damn, we've got two threads going right now in which he's being freely beaten - Isn't that enough?

    Cheers,
    Ian

Piling on Phil is like hitting your sister.

Indeed. But, it's got to the point where the parallel would be raping your sister! Definitely not deserved, ever....

The haters are often blind to the facts, and that pisses me off.

His watch is too big though ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

And I thought that saying hitting was going beyond the limits of propriety.
