Someone got a heck of a deal if this what it really sold for. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649&item=130645358849&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#ht_794wt_1167 1989 Ferrari 348 TS Red / Tan ZFFFA36A0K0082292 58,000 miles Winning bid $26,345.00 Image Unavailable, Please Login
How is that a heck of a deal?? Actually when these things are auctioned all of us can see exactly what they are worth. Not just what someone thinks their car is worth. In my opinion the Car went for Fair money. Early model 348 are not worth a penny over $30K. Now all the 348 owners can step in and tell me why their car is worth at least 40K.
FWIW, here's a '91 that was listed for just under $30K last month and appears to be sold: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=141125741&postcount=1057
Don't worry about saving it Big Willy, I just read in another thread how there are so many Ferraris they are just like Mercedes and BMW's now...................................AHAHAHAHA! But seriously folks, someone actually did post that in another thread. My opinion is there will always be fewer Ferraris than there are people on the Earth who want one, so if you can save this one, have at it man! MB

Looks like a great car - good luck with the sale! Moving into another Ferrari or taking a break for a while? All the best, Andrew.
I stumbled across this auction taking place next weekend...they list a few 348/355s...no affiliation: http://auctionsamerica.com/events/all-lots.cfm?order=alphabetical&noreserve=&Day=&category=&year=Year+or+Lot+Number&make=Ferrari&model=Model&SaleCode=FL12

If I were in the market I would strongly consider Chirs' car. If you want the lowest entry price and feel like doping some service yourself, this is the way to go... http://columbusga.craigslist.org/cto/2855212807.html An excellent color for the car. I would have preferred it with tan seats though. BT Image Unavailable, Please Login
Even though the 348 market isn't what it should be, I really have a hard time believing ANY Ferrari by owner ad on Craigslist.
Looks legit to me. I put my car on cars.com and CL when I sold a few years ago. I have bought 2 cars and sold 3 cars using CL in the past 4 months. Prices were fair, and the buyers have definitely moved awaay from cars.com and onto CL. I like searchtempest.com for finding cars without having to jump around the stupid CL interface. The S2000 I bought was in Tyler, TX and was a great deal from an owner, not a dealer. An email or a phone call would make it pretty apparent if this is real or fake. I would bet real. BT
I wonder if the switch from tan to black was for owner preferences or because the seats needed replacing for sale and black was the only colour seats he could get quickly/inexpensively? All the best, Andrew.
Not sure, but black is probably what was available on the cheap. The tan looks much better with that exterior color in my opinion. You could get brand new tan covers from GAHH for around $2500 installed last time I checked, and that would be money well spent in this case. BT
Hello all, I'm looking at my first Ferrari - a 348. I'm looking for something to drive not just sit in my garage and say "oh look, I have a Ferrari". There's one listed on Ebay by Victory Motors - http://tinyurl.com/6w6wt8p Has anyone dealt with this dealer before? Is this dealer close to anyone who'd be willing to swing by and take a look at it for me and give me your opinion? Houston area. I'm going to get a PPI on it, but if it's not worth it I'd rather move on to the next car. Feel free to PM me. I'd also happily pay a few bucks to save me wasting my time. Thanks much. David
Who are you getting the PPI done with David? I recommend my mechanic Ferda Hroch. He is not quick because he is busy (currently with my 30k on my 348) but he will do a good PPI. 713-956-5202. I have heard of the vendor but have no opinion. I am a bit too far away for a drive by viewing (I am in Sugar Land). Before you PPI it determine: When was last major service done (DATE and miles)? Do they have documentation for all previous major services? Are all the extras like the tool kit and air can there? Any known issues. If service was >4-5 years ago it is time for another. Judging by how bad the sound proofing is sagging from the rear deck lid I'd say she has been sitting for a while. That is an easy fix and it has not been done. Interior looks average. "I do not know" to any of those questions means you do not want to make a long distance purchase. Even cars serviced by mechanics some on this list respect can have issues you will have to resolve (both of mine included). Ask them to send you all the documentation via scanned PDF. As soon as you do the PPI they know you have money invested. Remember that. Edit: And that mileage is VERY high. That is a good thing for the car, as it has likely not been a total garage queen but a horrible thing for value. The car will never command high end pricing compared to its peers regardless of condition. I am sure the owner knows this. My old 308 had over 85k miles on it and ran AWESOME but was worth NOTHING even though it was absolutely gorgeous and ran fantastic. Look at Nadaguides for this car, if the 30k was recent (last year) max price would be the middle number I think, or less. If it has been >5 yrs since the 30k stay below or well below the low retail price. Per another post today, a heavy correctly done 30k can quickly exceed 7,000 to 9,000.
