Just added my first batch of photos (22) from the event. Some seriously nice stuff out there and certainly more photos to come. Thanks to everyone that brought their cars out and especially to those that organize and sponsored the event. It just gets better every year.

Awesome stuff Pat! That low shot of the Birdcage is great.

Great shots, everyone! Love seeing all the different angles and style of pictures. :)

How do you guys get them up so fast? Do you batch process them? I'm still individually going through them so that's probably why I take so much time!

I was getting really tired and left an hour-ish earlier. Spring Break is over so I'm back to my daily grind, so this is the only shot I have up so far. I'll try to crank some more out soon!

I actually manually process everything in Photoshop. Each photo varies in the amount of work I put into it, but it always goes something like this:

1- Browse through photos, looking for shots that catch my eye.
2- Process the RAW file for color/contrast/etc.
3- Crop, touch-up and further process the exported RAW in Photoshop.
4- Export to JPEG and upload to my site.

The speed I'm able to get through the shots really depends greatly on how much is involved (with some of these shots I've removed people and such), but I'm typically able to do it quite quickly due to the simple fact that I've probably edited ~15,000 photos using a similar process. A photo where I just process the RAW, crop and do a little further tweaking takes only a few minutes. I can spend up to about an hour on individual shots in more extreme situations.

Funny, that's pretty much exactly what I do too! I'd say average time spent per photo is probably 10-15 minutes, but sometimes much longer.

I usually shoot RAW + JPG. I have issues with coloring when I try to edit them in Lightroom, the reds change and become darker and it sometimes gets annoying so I end up seperating the JPG files, so I just threw it on JPG for the one with the numerous amounts of red cars. I have a big enough card to support RAW + JPG though I just set it on JPG so I didn't have any issues.

Here are 3 others that I uploaded:

Sounds like a color profile issue. Likely something along the lines of the camera being set to sRGB and Lightroom in Adobe or vice versa. I've struggled with that myself. Especially when exporting to JPEG, as it'll change depending upon how you export it. Then there's issues with JPEGs showing up different depending on how you view them... will look great in Photoshop or Preview/Photo View, but awful online... or will look fine on PCs and terrible on a Mac. Still haven't got it 100% sorted, honestly.

But now this thread has been seriously derailed! Hopefully I'll have at least a few more new photos up later today.

EDIT: And very nice photos! Weren't there when I was typing that up. I liked that trio of red Porsches, but don't think I got a decent shot of them, unfortunately.

It was a great day bringing the Birdcage out and OSCA MT4 was a blast. Really fun to drive these machines on a beautiful Saturday morning. Thanks for hosting such a great day.

    Thanks, that 964 was awesome!

I'm not too sure, if I shoot RAW + JPG, I can salvage those pictures and keep the RAW file for the others, but it just gets confusing and adds up to way too many files.

And yes, let's get back to the pictures! :)

    Those were gorgeous cars!

    No.

If I shoot motorsports (IE - NASCAR on the track), I shoot JPEG fine. For anything that doesn't really matter, I shoot JPEG (like the Windgate show - sorry guys).

For anything that matters, I shoot RAW + JPEG basic. I've filled up something like 10 Terabytes of photos since 2009, so I can't shoot RAW for everything.

For me, it is even more complicated. I used CS4 on Windows 7 and CS5.5 on a Mac Pro. I use sRGB for the photo galleries linked below, and CMYK for the print versions. Plus not all printers are using the same CMYK profiles either. Two guidebooks = 2 different printers = 2 different shades of everything - not only photos, but logos and background colors.

As for me, I sharpen, assign/convert to profile, check DPI, crop, adjust levels, adjust for shadows & highlights, contrast, brightness, saturation, double check horizon with Adobe ruler tool.
